"Hello?" I muttered sleepily on the phone.

"Ms. Raheem, with Rowand. The lawyer."

I sat up straight away. "Rowand, hi."

"Hello," he greeted politely. "I have news."

"Oh?" A frown formed between my eyebrows. "Good news, I hope."

I heard him laugh on the other end. "I have submitted your request to the court along with Imran's lawyer."

With Imran's lawyer? Imran had helped me?

"Zara," Imran muttered cautiously. His fingers carefully wiped my tears. "Do you want to visit Ela?"

A lump formed in my throat. "And?"

"Your request has been accepted."

I pushed the blanket aside. "I can visit Ela?" I muttered in disbelief.

"Yes, ma'am. However, the visit must be supervised."

I let out a scream of enthusiasm. "That's alright!" I tightened my grip on the phone. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

"No problem, Ms. Raheem," Rowan laughed. "Until then, however, keep quiet. Anything you do or say could affect the lawsuit."

With hopeful eyes, I stared out the window.
It will be alright.

I rubbed my eyes to sharpen my image and threw my legs over the edge of the bed.

After the conversation with Rowand, I had fallen asleep again.

I got out of bed and put my hand over my mouth as I let out a long yawn.

Eyes half open, I walked down the stairs, still transfixed from sleep that I'd forgotten the last few steps.

Everything seemed to be going in slow motion, as my hands flew off the banister and my feet off the steps, looking for the ground.

I squeezed my eyes shut, prepared for a painful fall when suddenly I felt two pairs of hands on my hips.

With a fast pounding heart, my eyes flashed open and I stared straight into a pair of brown-green eyes.

His eyes examined mine for a moment, before drifting to my stomach. "Look out."

I fell a few steps back, my hands automatically went to my stomach as my eyes widened.

"I slipped," I muttered indignantly.

He rolled his eyes and walked to the couch as I fled to the kitchen.

I grabbed a bottle of apple juice from the fridge and took a few greedy gulps.

I closed the cap again when I was finished drinking and put the bottle back in the fridge after which I took a carton of cornflakes out of the cupboard.

As I was about to put the package in a bowl, the doorbell suddenly rang through the house.

My eyes fell on the clock on the wall and I frowned automatically. The hands indicated that it was half past ten in the morning.

I put the pack back on the counter and walked out into the hallway.

Arriving there, I could already see Imran reaching for the doorknob and opening it.

An enraged Faid appeared at the doorway. A few steps from us.

Shit.

My lips pressed together. "Faid-" But before I could walk to him, Faid attacked Imran.
