[Imran]
"Why is the matter still not settled?" I yelled into the phone in frustration as I walked back and forth.
"The papers arrived too late. As a result, we were unable to submit your lawsuit."
F*ck.
"And now?" I muttered with a sigh and slumped onto the bed.
"I will present the papers to the judge tomorrow."
I hung up angrily and pulled out a pack of cigarettes from the drawer. I lit a cigarette and started inhaling it.
After a while I pressed it out in a butt container and let out a sigh.
I ran my hands over my face and shook my head.
What are you doing, Imran?
The sound of a notification echoed through the room. I picked up my phone from the bed and looked at the screen. Liam had sent me a message.
When I saw the message, a frown formed on my forehead. I have detected her location.
"-I know. It was a shock to me too." My mother's voice echoed from outside. A sign that she was back home.
She was silent for a minute, listening to what the other had to say.
"I didn't know they were open to that either," she added, and I glanced out the window. She stood at the door with her phone between her ear and shoulder as she fumbled in her bag.
Humming, she pulled out her keys.
"Manar." Her voice suddenly sounded very serious. "You know what happens when he finds out Zara is pregnant."
Zara is pregnant?
Zara is pregnant?
I grabbed the car keys from the bed and went down the stairs.
Seeing my mother carrying groceries in, I ran to her aid. I immediately took the bags from her and put them on the counter of the kitchen without difficulty.
With a surprised look, she hung up. "Imran, what are you doing here?"
I held her shoulders as I pierced my eyes into hers. "Mother, I want you to answer my question honestly."
She nodded confused.
"Is Zara pregnant?"
Her eyes widened as she took a step back. "How did you find out?"
The intensity in my eyes increased. "Is that a yes?"
Her eyes betrayed the answer.
A wide smile appeared on my lips. Zara is pregnant.
Hope bubbled up. We can be together again.
I withdrew my hands and ran into the hallway.
"Wait- Imran!"
I tied my shoes and opened the door. "There's no time for that now. I have to go." I didn't want to waste time.
"Imran, stop," my mother called as she followed me. "You're just making it more difficult!"
I got into the car and drove off at full speed.

I walked nervously to the front door and rang the bell.
After ringing the doorbell three times, I heard someone open the lock.
I took a step back and waited patiently.
