(Deidara pov)

A major heaviness looms over me as I treat (Y/n's) wounds. Words could never explain how awful I feel.

Her crimson blood stains my hands. It makes me feel queasy.

I stare down at my own hands as (Y/n) treats the wounds on my face. Her blood- on my hands. I want to throw up.

"I'm sorry I let this happen" I say, my voice halters and my throat feels dry.

"Blondie, don't blame yourself for this. Please, it wasn't your fault" She says softly.

"I just-" I mumble.

The horrendous guilt lingers despite (Y/n's) words.

(Y/n) plants a kiss on the tip of my nose. I melt a bit, my anxiety being shaken away.

"Don't feel bad, that was actually pretty fun!" She says with a laugh.

Hearing her laugh forces a smile onto my face.

"I'm still so sorry you got hurt" I say, in spite (Y/n's) sympathy my guilt remains.

My emotions overwhelm me, they spill out and I pull her into an embrace. I melt into her entirely and she just sits there and nuzzles into my shoulder.

"Let's get you home" I say

"Let's get you home" I say.

(Y/n) nods her head. I could feel her smile against my neck.

In this moment of pure vulnerability (Y/n) comforts me wholly. Her embrace feels so healing and warm. A few warm tears fall down my cheeks. Tears of... I'm not sure what. So many emotions wash over me at once. I feel every emotion swirling around in my mind.

I let go of (Y/n's). Her loving gaze meets mine.

"I can't believe Konan and the others set all this up"

"Me neither, but I'm glad they did-un" I say smirking.

(Y/n pov)

"Deidara seems better after that. I'm glad"

He helps me to a small clearing in the trees. It'd be too cramped for me to summon Skye. Deidara surprisingly still has clay which he uses to conjure a large clay bird.

Deidara helps me onto the bird. He sits beside me and commands the bird into the air. Stars are speckled like freckles across the sky. The wind carries a bit of chill through the air.

As we stray further from the Leaf Village, we pass over the gorgeous Sunagakure. The warm tinged lights of the buildings shines bright enough to be seen from above.

I admire both the sparkling lights of the city and the blonde headed man sitting beside me. I scoot over and lean into him. He adjusts his posture into mine. A smile grows on my face.
