(Y/n pov)
I wake up at- 4 A.M!?
"What?" I question.
I was awake- wide awake. I start trying to fall asleep.
"No use" I say to myself "I might as well get up"
I sat up in my bed and put my feet on the cool wood floor. I stand up slowly and yawn. I shuffle down the dark hall. When I reach our shared bathroom I turn on the cold water in the sink and splash some on my face. I decide to do something to cure my boredom. I walk back to my room trying t be as quiet as possible. I step into my room and lean down next to my dresser. I open up the drawer containing my art supplies. I pull out my sketchbook and pencil bag. I turn on the lamp on my desk and pulled out my chair. I started to sketch a dog, I was soon interrupted.
"Hey are you seriously awake?"
I turned my head to see Deidara standing in the doorway.
"Yeah, I woke up and couldn't fall back asleep." I reply "Why are you up?"
"Well, I was working on a project after our little game night and I was trying to finish it tonight-un" he answers.
"A project huh?" I say.
"Yeah, wanna see it?" Deidara asked.
"Why not, I am bored" I reply
I stand up and walk towards my doorway where Deidara was leaning. He stood up straight and started towards his room, I quietly followed. When we got to his room he motioned his hand telling me to go in first. When I stepped into his room I noticed all kinds of sketches, paintings, and sculptures. He stepped in front of me and walked over to his desk. He picked up a canvas and turned it towards me. It was a landscape it looked like the forest where we first met.
"Wow, not bad" I comment.
"Thanks" He replied.
"I can help you if you want" I offered "I am pretty bored you know"
"You don't have to act better than me-un" Deidara growls.
"Well technically speaking I have more sketching experience than you Blondie" I retorted.
"Well I bet you have no sculpting experience-un" He huffed.
"Maybe I don't" I say.
I walked over to his desk and started sketching some new lines on his drawing.
"Hey what're you doing?!" He snapped as quietly as possible.
"Helping" I answer through a smirk.
He only scoffed. I had added some lines and bushes here and there to refine the perspective.
"There" I showed him my improvements "Why don't you show me how to sculpt if your're so great at it"
"Fine"
He started digging through what looked like a jewelry box. He grabbed some clay that was wrapped in plastic wrap and set it on the desk next to the drawing.
"Here" He said pulling off some of the white clay.
I took it from his hand and started kneading it with my thumb.
"It's a lot easier for me because of my hands" Deidara remarked holding up his hands-which ya know have mouths.
He put some clay in his left hand and his mouth ate it and spit out a clay bat. I couldn't help but be amazed. He handed it to me as I admired it.
"It won't blow up will it?" I ask.
"Nope, this isn't detonating clay-un" he says through a little smile. "Now, I'll show you how to do it without mouths on your hands"
We sat down on the floor leaning against his bedframe. Deidara took the bat from me and squished it back into a blob the same size as the one I held in my hands.
"Just take it step by step-un" he said rolling it into a ball without putting it in his mouth(on his hand).
I did the same, he then stretched out what would soon become the wings. I attempted to copy this part but failed to make them even.
"If the wings are uneven just roll it back up and start again-un" he suggested.
After a few attempts I had wings on my little clay bat.
"How do I make little arches like yours?" I asked, I hated that he was better than me.
"Here" Deidara said.
He set his bat next to him on the floor and extended his hands towards mine. He grabbed one of my hands and helped me make arches for my bats wings.
"His hands were pretty soft considering he is an S-rank criminal" I had let my mind wander "Ugh, what am I thinking I don't like him he annoys the crap outta me"
I felt something cold and wet on the back of my hand.
"Oh sorry" Deidara quickly pulled his hands back to himself, "Got the hang of it yet Y/n?"
"Maybe, what do you think?" I ask.
"Not bad-un" Deidara replied "Not as good as mine but-"
"Well I'm not done yet" I scoffed.
"Add the ears" He said picking up his own uncompleted bat "Like this"
He pinched some of the clay up to form pointy ears. I copied him as best I could.
"Not bad huh?" I say sarcastically.
He showed me how to make its face. I was actually quite impressed. My bat was nowhere near as detailed as Deidara's but I was proud of it.
"Thanks for teaching me this Blondie" I sassed.
"No prob" he remarked sarcastically.
I stood up and shortly Deidara did too. He walked me out of his room and I waved to him walking to my own room. I sat on the edge of my bed admiring my little bat. I stood back up setting it on my dresser. I tucked myself under my blanket and got cumfy. I drifted off to sleep thinking about my new life it was full of adventure and spontaneity. Hell, I just learned how to sculpt from a guy who has mouths on his hands. I love my new life.
(A/n- Yay I made a good chapter! I am big brain)
