(Y/n pov)
"So are we just going to move on from all that?" I ask.
"Yeah-un" Deidara says, flashing a smirk.
"I suppose we are the 'bad guys' after all" I think with a crooked smile on my face.
I laugh, then peer around the corner before we set off again. Deidara and I walk side-by-side down the street. Our hands were getting dangerously close to each other. I almost reach for his hand, but a nervous feeling starts to rise in my chest.
I glance up at Deidara's face briefly. I feel anxious and unworthy of being in a romantic situation with someone like him. Being out of the place that my "mission" was supposed to be, has already taken me out of my comfort zone. I hate to admit my self-doubts; I've always excelled at everything, but I can't even go on a date without stressing out.
Deidara looks back at me and smiles then asks, "Are you alright? You look red-un"
"Yeah!" I respond quickly, "Sorry, I just- got a bit nervous"
Suddenly, I remember who I'm here with. Deidara, one of the people I care about the most, who cares about me. One of the people who makes me feel safe. I laugh. Deidara smiles, and I feel myself blush harder.
Rigidly, I reach out and grab Deidara's hand. I tense up for a second, then Deidara giggles. I loosen up a little, trying not to be awkward.
Together we walk up and down a few streets, looking for a dessert place. Until I spot a booth selling mochi, dango, and cake.
"Oi, Blondie. Look over there" I say stubbornly, trying not to come off too soft.
"Let's stop here then?" He asks.
I nod and we make our way to the booth. The air smells sweet and light, and all of the dessert looks amazing.
"What do you want-un?" Deidara asks sweetly.
"(whatever dessert you like) sounds good right now" I say, happily.
"That does sound good!" He says before ordering two (favorite dessert).
An older woman with kindness visible in her eyes returns with our sweets.
"Here you are" She says, her face wearing a pure smile.
"Thanks!cvf" I say, excitedly.
I take a huge bite out of my (favorite dessert). As Deidara and I enjoy our desserts a momentary silence falls on the small booth. We talk a bit between bites of our treats.
I look over at the blonde. He's so beautiful. In the silence my mind gets drawn out of the moment.
"Y/n-"
"Yeah?" I say nodding my head.
"Ah- never mind-un" Deidara says.
We finished our desserts happily. We decided to pay for our desserts here, so we wouldn't make a scene or be jerks to an old lady.
"Thanks, Deidara" I say.
It falls silent again for a moment. I feel my lips turn into a frown; I don't want to go home. I want to stay here with him. Despite my own awkwardness this has been super enjoyable.
Deidara looks down at me as we walk side by side. He smirks before grabbing my hand. I know where this is going.
He takes off running.
"Well I guess I have no choice but to follow him now" I think, a smile growing on my face.
"Where are we going, Blondie?" I exclaim, a bit out of breath.
