(Timeskip Y/n pov)
It has been a day since my sorta weird mission debriefing with Konan. Last night everybody got back later than I had expected, they got a bunch of weapons cleaned and replaced, also some chocolate milk, Hidan drank it all a few days ago.
I'm genuinely looking forward to going on tonight's mission, there likely won't be any violence which isn't that fun, but getting out and being fancy will be fun. It is weird to get all dressed up just to go out alone though.
Fancy restaurants and nice dresses were never part of my old life. All of the things I have in my life, the Akatsuki, my freedom, people who genuinely care about me, are things I never had. Sometimes, it just hits me and I become so grateful for all of it.
Today is one of those days when you're eager to get ready and all dolled up. I get up from my disheveled mess of blankets, then shake out my hair with my hands. My outfit for today is just going to be some soft shorts and a baggy t-shirt, seeing as I won't be doing anything until tonight. I changed, washed my face off, brushed my teeth, then put my hair up in (favorite hairstyle).
I proceeded into the kitchen to get breakfast. The cabinets were full of snack foods, I'm pretty sure nobody actually knows how to cook, or at least they never do. Itachi and Sasori seem like the type to be good at it, though. In the very back of the cabinet is some baking ingredients
(sugar, flower, baking powder, oats, salt, etc.).I've decided on making muffins, despite the scarce supplies. I grabbed all of the dry ingredients, then moved along to the other ingredients from the fridge. We have some fresh fruits so I'll use them to make purees. I choose blueberry and lemon, as they aren't too difficult to puree.
I spend about thirty minutes making the batter for the muffins. I had no clue we had a muffin pan or muffin cups; I had to ask Kisame if he knew if we had one. I used some cute shiny tins and poured in the batter, then popped them in the oven. About twenty minutes later, I got them out and made a crumble for the blueberry ones and drizzle for the lemon ones.
They look really good, hopefully they taste okay.
"What did you make-un?" Deidara asks cheerfully as he turned the corner into the kitchen.
My nearly heart jumped out of my chest as his striking light blue eyes locked on to mine.
"Oh my Jashin- that scared me" I say to myself, as I stare further into Deidara's eyes.
"Muffins" I respond, smiling a little at the blonde boy "We didn't have anything I wanted for breakfast"
"Can I have one?" he asked.
"Of course, I made them for everyone" I answer matter-of-factly.
Deidara grabbed a muffin, then took a bite of of the top. I tilt my head and stare at him in anticipation. I can't tell what he's thinking by his facial expression. He hummed happily, I guess that means they're good.
"So they're good?" I ask.
He nods his head cutely. I grab a muffin for myself and bit into it.
"They are pretty good! That's a relief"
Deidara finishes his muffin, he then looks around nervously and asks "What are you up to for the rest of the day?"
"Why do you need to know, Blondie?" I joke.
"No reason-un" He responds with a kinda awkward smirk.
I let my lips curve into a smirk back at the blonde. We sat together on the couch and continued to chat about nothing for a while, it's easy to talk to Deidara, easy to get lost staring at him too.
