CONFIDENTIAL THERAPY NOTES
Dr. Xavier McHolland
Patient: Tybalt Anderson
DOB: 4/23/1993
Location: Safe Space Recovery Center
Session Date: May 29th-June 2nd, 2023
Treatment Duration: 8 Years – Ongoing
Session 447
Overview: The patient arrived on time, with no visible rushing. He entered with a brief nod and sat down. He was neutral, with occasional warmth when discussing certain topics. His posture was more open, with his back against the chair rather than hunched forward.
Session Content
The therapist asked how things have been going with the patient and his brother since the recent three-day reconnection.
"It's...better now," he said. "We're not turning every hangout into a deep dive into the past. Sometimes we talk about dance, sometimes his job. I don't walk away feeling like I lost 8 years of progress anymore."
He described his brother's efforts to check in before raising any issues from their childhood.
"He'll literally ask, 'Do you have the energy to talk about this?'" he said. "If I say no, he respects it."
The therapist reflected that this indicated a shift toward mutual respect and healthier boundaries.
When asked about Nadine, the patient hesitated, then admitted:
"I pay more attention to how I feel around her now because of the exercise. Even when I don't want to."
He described a sense of anticipation before rehearsals he knows she'll attend, a subtle drop in mood when she's not on schedule, relief as she slips into the studio, and seeing her warm up.
"When she's in the room, it's quieter in my head," he said. "But also...louder. I don't know how to explain that."
Clinical Observations:
The patient and his brother continue to improve their relationship and find a way to be in each other's lives without their past constantly hanging over them.
The patient appears to be experiencing the co-existence of comfort and fear in Nadine. Comfort in presence and fear of what that presence means for him.

Session 448
Overview: The patient arrived slightly late but appeared to be in a good mood, smiling and sitting back, relaxed. He began the session without prompting and shared that he had a great day with Nadine.
Session Content
The patient reported that during rehearsals, Nadine became frustrated with her performance and repeatedly insisted on restarting a section until he stopped the music.
"I told her she was pushing herself like she was trying to earn a spot she already had," he said. "She didn't have anything left to prove."
He reported that she grew quiet, then confessed that she was afraid of "messing up" her chance to work with him.
