✨Evan (P.O.V.)
"Evan, I'm waiting for you," Jake said over the phone. "Where are you?"
"In the halls, but on my way," I said.
I sighed, hanging up.
I don't know what made me attend today's stupid high school reunion.
The idea was stupid, and I should never have gone along with it.
My phone vibrated, pulling me out of my thoughts.
~Jake: Do you want to leave now? *now
~Yeah, go straight to the parking lot.
~Jake: But what about the meet and greet? *now
~I don't care
~Jake: I'm on my way to the halls. We'll leave from there. *now
~You should have just left for the parking lot.
CLICK...CLACK...CLICK...CLACK...
As I looked down at my phone, I heard something strange.
It sounded like high-heeled shoes.
I looked up in confusion when it sounded closer.
I saw a girl running towards me in the hallway.
She seemed to be coming from the girls' bathroom.
She's in a blue long-sleeve dress.
However, I can't see her face as she's more focused on what's behind her or what she's running from.
She didn't look in front once; she was still looking back.
I shook my head, minding my own business.

~Well, now I want to leave this p-
Before I could finish typing, the same girl and I bumped into each other.
She collided with my chest, losing her balance.
My eyes widened when I saw that her back was about to hit the floor.
I immediately rushed towards her, dropping my phone.
My arms wrapped around her back just in time.
I looked back at my phone, still holding onto her.
"Shit," I mumbled to myself, turning back around.
My eyes widened as soon as I saw her face.
Her eyes were shut really tight.
I could hear the loud beating of her heart.
Fear was written all over her face as her heart beat faster.
The same heartbeat.
She slowly opened her eyes.
It's the same emerald green eyes, but they're not normal. I'm not even sure if she can see me clearly now.
"Help me, please..." she said, trying to keep her eyes open. "Someone's...Someone's... Someone's...Someone's after...After me...Someone's after—"
She fainted before she could finish the sentence.
I still held her, looking at her in shock.
