Alice Firro's POV (D11)
After my interview, I get a terrible headache. It feels like someone is dropping anvils on my head. I sit down on a bench and cry. Duncan sees me and holds me. "Alice, what's wrong?" "Can we go back to my room?" He nods. We walk to my room and Duncan gasps. "Alice, you're burning up!" I moan and lie down. "I'll find a doctor. Rest until I get back." I nod. Duncan leaves and I flop down on the pillows. A few minutes later, Duncan returns. "What are her symptoms?" the doctor asks. "She has a headache and a fever." The doctor nods. "Have her take this every hour until her fever breaks. And this for the headache." He hands us a bottle and some pills. Duncan nods. "Thank you, Doctor." He nods and leaves. "Duncan pours some pink goop into a plastic cup and gives it to me. "Drink all of it. Then take one of these." I force down the icky goop and pop one pill in my mouth.
Duncan says, "Go to sleep. You need your energy for the arena." I nod and lie down. "Goodnight, Duncan. I love you." Duncan replies, "I love you too." I fall asleep.
The next morning, I still feel a bit warm and there's still a faint throbbing in my head. Today the Games begin.
Gabrielle Riviera's POV (D10)
Caitlin was scared and I was holding her. "Caitlin, we'll be fine. Remember, we have extra training." Caitlin nods. "I love you." I reply, "I love you too, Caitlin." We go to sleep and Caitlin holds my arm in her sleep.
Jess Moraine's POV (D8)
I walk to my room and flick on the TV. The interviews are on. The boy from 10 is on. "I don't need to be reminded of the Games." I turn it off and fall asleep. I don't notice, but Alex walks in and hugs me.
Luke Marcos' POV (D10)
Ashley walks into the room and I yell at her. "Ashley, why would you do that!?" "What!?" "You made me look weak!" She storms into the bathroom and I stomp to the balcony. The lights of the Capitol sparkle. In the distance, I can see District 1. I sigh and fall asleep on the bed.
I just need to finish the training scores, then I'll make the Bloodbath.
