Anya Shaek's POV (D2)
Jak and I are running through the forest and I hear branches snapping behind me. We come up against a sheer stone cliff. We're trapped. There are three tributes, two girls and a boy. I grab one of my darts and blow it at the shorter girl. She screams and the boy lunges at me in rage. The other girl tries to save her. You can't. Firefern can't be stopped if you're in the arena. The girl is sweating like crazy. The firefern is burning her. She screams and the older girl is digging through her bag, looking for water. She finds none and the girl's eyes flutter shut. Her cannon booms and the boy hurls a spear at me. It hits me in the chest. I collapse and Jak runs to my side. "Anya! Please, don't leave me!" His tears soak my shirt, as does my blood. He turns, but the boy and girl are gone. The dead girl's body lies there. I weakly whisper, "Goodbye, Jak. I love you." He holds me as the world disappears.
Daniel Breyer's POV (D5)
Riane, Cassidy, and I are chasing down two tributes. Riane follows me and we trap them against a stone wall. The girl blows a dart at Cassidy. No! I attack the girl and hurl one of Cassidy's spears at the girl. She falls and her brother holds her. We take this opportunity to run away. We hear her cannon boom and my tears run down my cheeks. In the cave where we made our temporary shelter, Riane hugs me. "We've both lost our sisters. We're the only 5 tributes left." I nod. "She was so young. She didn't deserve to go." Riane nods. "There's nothing we could have done. The effects were too strong. Firefern burns the insides." I wipe my face and Riane says, "Daniel, remember. Do not eat any plant or berry unless I say it's okay. I don't want any more poison deaths." I nod. Both Lianne and Cassidy were killed by poison. We gather our things and prepare to hunt for food.
Mitchell Savich's POV (D9)
Christa and I are watching the Cornucopia. She runs to get the remaining weapons. I follow and Christa grabs an axe. Two boys run out and one grabs the axe. They fight over it and the boy kicks it into Christa's chest. He pulls it out and runs away. I run to Christa. "Christa! Please don't die!" She hacks up blood and whispers, "Mitchell, go! Those boys will be back. Survive, try to get back to Abby. Remember, you're a natural flirter." I smile. "I love you, Christa." Her cannon booms and I run into the forest.
Lauren Pycen's POV (D1)
Lucia is walking into a cave, and I follow her. We hear leaves crunching behind us. I slowly turn around. A muttation, which is in the form of a robotic bear, roars and forces us deeper into the cave. It traps us, and it's rusty paws grab Lucia. I scream, "Lucia!" I jab a knife into the bear, but its metal chest protects it from my knife's blade. The bear bites Lucia, and her cannon goes off. I scream as it drops Lucia's corpse on the damp rock. It grabs me and I see Lucia's angelic spirit. We're free. Free of all pain, all pain the Games are causing us. We're with Dad! We can finally meet him. I nod, tears staining my cheeks. Mom is all alone.
