Meryl Wendell's POV (D7)
I am crouching behind a bush, and a rabbit hops out of its burrow. I pull out my dagger and it pricks its ears up. I peek through the leaves, and see the boy who killed Cheryse. I quickly throw a rock, and it hits a tree. They look around to see who threw it. While their backs are turned, I grab the boy. I hold a knife, and his mom screams. "Ethan!" He struggles, but I don't let him escape. "You will pay for killing Cheryse!" His mother hurls a knife, but I dodge and it grazes Ethan's arm. I quickly decapitate Ethan, and his mom chases me. I hear woods burning, and I realize that the Gamemakers have started a fire. The woman turns, and the smoke envelops her son's body. While she is turned, I run and don't look back.
Zoe Grayne's POV (D12)
I wake up tied to a tree, with three tributes looking at me. "Let me go!" I reach for my knife, but the rope restricts my movements. The youngest one impales me with her dagger, and I instantly feel like when you're on top of a mountain and you can't breathe. They laugh. My lungs are numb and the world spins as I slowly suffocate.
James Creeds' POV (D10)
Braden and I are on a bluff overlooking the Arena. The wind makes Braden's hair fly everywhere. "Braden, be careful! I don't know what happened back there, but I don't want it happening again." He nods. We see three tributes kill one, and Braden grabs my hand. "Run before they see us." I oblige and disappear into the shadows of the tall trees. Three tributes run a few feet away from us, and I let out a sigh. That was close.
Peter Ekan's POV (D3)
I am sprinting through the woods, flames kissing my heels. Just a bit farther! I see a pond, and jump in, safe from the fire. I hear a cannon boom and a woman screaming. I duck down in the water as the woman chases a young girl. The girl is too quick for the woman, and the girl escapes. The woman throws her knives on the ground in frustration. I watch as she retrieves them and stalks into the forest.
