Cera Marksson's POV (D4)
Jeremy shakes me awake. "Cera! There's a storm coming!" I groggily wake myself up. "We have to get to high ground!" We climb some boulders. "We can swim, right? We're 4." Jeremy shakes his head. "Mom never signed me up for lessons. They're available when you're 12!" I scream. The rain has quickly created a flood of water, dotted with riptides. Jeremy spots a tall tree. I pull him towards it, but we are pulled into a riptide. It drags us under. We're drowning! I try to pull Jeremy and I up, but to no avail. My lungs scream for air, but that request is never satisfied. The waves take me and Jeremy away.
Zoe Grayne's POV (D12)
Elizabeth and I are walking through the forest, and two tributes come in front of us. The older one laughs maniacally. The younger one looks frightened. She whispers, "Gabby, you're turning scary. I don't like it." Gabby stops laughing. We start running away, but the older one, Gabby, shoots Elizabeth. "You evil monster!" I lunge at Gabby and Caitlin screams, "No!" We fight and my dagger pierces her chest. Caitlin runs away as Gabby's body drops from my hands. I leave and the hovercraft picks up Elizabeth and Gabby's bodies.
Viola Grayson's POV (D6)
Dad and I are chasing a tribute through the Cornucopia plains. We are about halfway across when we hear an explosion. I scream. The blast was right in front of us, killing the 1 boy. I run, but another one instantly kills Dad. "Dad!" It's too late. I collapse and cry. I feel the ground shaking. The final explosion erupts underneath me.
Mia Hetro's POV (D9)
Thea and I are rushing towards the Cornucopia. Before we got there, we heard three explosions at the Cornucopia. Those aren't cannons. We decided to go back. We turned and saw a girl who looked like she'd gone mad. (Zoe) "Wish you'd gone with the three of them, don't you? Well, now you will!" She laughed in a crazed manner and tackles Thea. "Get away from my sister!" I slap her, but she slashes my hand. I yank my arm away, but she drags the blade across Thea's neck. Her cannon goes off and I tackle Zoe. She holds the knife menacingly and I run away. I'm sorry I couldn't save you, Thea.
Universal POV
(I don't own Claudius Templesmith.)
Claudius announces, "For the tributes who are still alive, there will be a feast! Tonight at midnight, the bell will ring. When it does, the feast prizes will be deposited at the Cornucopia. The tributes that cross the treeline before the bell tolls will meet their demise. Happy Hunger Games, and may the odds be ever in your favor."
