A/N- Yay, nine! Almost done with the Reapings! ~Amanda
Shia Hetro's POV
Mia and Thea, my older twin sisters, are eating breakfast and leave me a bowl of cereal. "So, do you think you'll be reaped?" I ask. They shake their heads. Thea states, "All of our names are only in once per name. There's a low chance of one of us being reaped." We finish our meal. We walk to the square as a trio. Fear tapped my body. I could still be reaped, though. It could still happen. The escort, Madeline Scotch, announces news. "For the 100th Hunger Games, one family member of each tribute will be placed in the Games as well." If one of us is reaped, who will be the other? Madeline fishes out a slip. "Shia Hetro." I am about to walk up when Mia shouts, "I volunteer as tribute!" She looks at me. "Shia, you are not going to that arena." Madeline laughs nervously. "Well, let's find the male tribute. Mitchell Savich." A thin boy with black hair walks up. "Thea Hetro and Christa Savich." Thea and a blonde girl walk up. Both my sisters are tributes. I have no other family. I'm an orphan.
Mitchell Savich's POV
I wake up and see her outside again. She always sits there, on her deck. Every morning, I get to watch her and observe her beauty. I never notice, but Christa hovers above me. "You love her, don't you?" "Wha-What? I wasn't looking at her. There's a, uh, weird rock?" Christa laughs, and I'm blushing red as a tomato. "Oh, Mitchell. I can tell. You do." I slump down on the bed. "How can I? I don't even know her name." "It's Abigail." I stare at Christa. "How do you-" "Look, Mitchell. I want to help you. Go. Talk to her. And for goodness sakes, tell her how you feel. Praise her good qualities, ignore the bad ones." I hug Christa. "Thanks so much, Christa! By the way, that shirt looks great on you." Christa smiles. "Thanks! See, you're a natural at flirting!" I check my hair in the hall mirror. Perfect. I walk outside. Abigail is still sitting on her deck. Come on, Mitchell. You got this. "Hi. You're Abigail, right?" She smiles. "Yeah, but you can call me Abby. What's your name?" "My name's Mitchell, but you can call me Mitch." "I've always loved that name. Mitchell." I smile. "Hey, um, if neither of us get reaped, wanna grab a latte or something later?" Abigail smiles. "Sure! I need to get ready for the Reaping. See you later, Mitchell." I smile. Before I know it, Abby kisses me on the cheek. I walk into my house, completely starstruck. "Nice job, Mitchell. You even got a date and a kiss!" I freeze. "You were watching!?" Christa retorts, "I wanted to see if my advice worked."
At the Reaping, I see Abby in the 17 year-old girl section. She's the same age as me. Shia Hetro is called, but her sister volunteered for her. They call my name. I can't believe it. I will never see Abby again. Madeline calls, "Thea Hetro and Christa Savich." Christa!? No, not her. Don't endanger her for me. Please, someone take her place! Deep in my heart, I know no one will. In the Justice Building, Abby runs in. "I will try to sponsor you and your sister, as much as possible." "Thank you so much, Abby!" I hug her. She whispers, "I think you're very attractive, and I want you to try and win."
Presenting... the Mitchell and Abigail ship! May it sail successfully! MITCHIGAIL!
