I don't own President Snow, Katniss, or Effie Trinket. They're Suzanne Collins'. But I own everyone else not in the Hunger Games.
Zoe Grayne's POV
My older sister is shaking me. "Zoe. Get up. It's Reaping Day." I slowly get out of bed and pull on a dress. "Ugh, I hate the Hunger Games. Why does President Snow support them?" Elizabeth asks. "He believes it's the only way to show Panem who really controls. They could rig it to instantly kill you."
30 minutes later, we're standing in our sections. The escort, Effie Trinket, is the same woman who was the escort for the 74th and 75th Hunger Games, with Katniss Everdeen. "Hello, District 12. For the 4th Quarter Quell, the tributes that are reaped will have one family member in the Games as well. Who is our female tribute?" She daintily plucks one slip of paper. "Zoe Grayne!" What? My shock turned to anger. My name was in there ONE TIME. They had to choose the one slip with my name on it. I stomp on the stage and wait for it all to be over. "Let's see who our boy tribute is." She picks a paper. "Timothy Dreyer!" Then, Effie calls our family. "Elizabeth Grayne and Nathan Dreyer!"
Timothy Dreyer's POV
I wake up with Nathan, my younger brother, falling off his bed. I laugh and wake him up. "Get dressed. Eat. Mom made cereal." Nathan ignores me. "It's premium District 11 grain!" Nathan smiles. "The best kind?" I nod. "Yup! Just for you!" He gets ready fast as lightning. 15 minutes later, I'm at the square and Mom and Nathan are in the adults section. The escort, Effie Trinket, was the escort for Katniss Everdeen! She picks a female tribute. Then she calls... me? "Timothy Dreyer!" I walk on the stage. Then Effie calls, "Elizabeth Grayne and Nathan Dreyer!" Nathan? Why him?
