-Bucky's Perspective-

Sam storms ahead of you as you leave the latest lead you had on the flagsmashers which turned out to be a dead end.

"We have to find them." Sam belts out as he strides ahead, you could feel his frustration but it was getting on your last, very thin, nerve.

You sigh deeply, internally counting to ten to remain as calm and semi-supportive towards him.

"You don't think I know that?" Your frustration flooded the rhetorical question, a lot more than you intended, you had to fix this and quick. "Sam you need to think rationally and right now, you're not."

You try your best to save it, you keep your head down, concentrating on walking forwards, you glance through your lashes at him. He was stoic, eyes focused ahead then you see himself blink back into reality as he shakes his head.

He sighs, turning to face you as you both continued walking forwards "I know, I know. We were so close. Now this.. its-its."

You watch him closely, the inner turmoil you were watching him have was unsettling. Although you'd never admit it to him, he was a Steve 2.0 with a touch of crazy.

He was the level headed, straight thinking and logical one of you both. He'd always be realistic and nothing would distract him from a mission, especially with the innocents that were lost in this particular display from the flagsmashers.

Which made it all the more worrying. There was only one thing that could knock a guy like that off his feet.

Love.

And that makes everything complicated, without the obvious denial that Sam was displaying. He tried so hard to play her off as just his bestfriends girl, when his face spoke volumes... he loved and potentially still does love his bestfriends girl.

"It's an embarrassment, how did you let them escape you?" A righteous and arrogant voice roared, breaking you from your train of thought.

You turn and see the one face you couldn't bare to lay eyes on. Holding the very thing that represented your bestfriend, his entire life. It made you sick, your stomach twisted seeing him hold that shield.

You and Sam both stop and dramatically turn to face the one and only John Walker, the supposed new "Captain America". But he knew you weren't his or Sam's cap, so no pleasantries were ever exchanged. You go to give him a witty comeback but Sam steps forward.

"Oh don't you give us that crap Walker. I don't recall seeing you there." He was very active with his arms, accenting each of his words, as Sam always does when he was passionate and worked up. His forehead laced with wrinkles as he furrowed his brows so deeply from the level of disbelief he had towards Walker.

You looked at Walker and you had to physically hold back a chuckle. He was genuinely shocked anyone had any audacity and gaul to stand up to him.

"Quit following us and go and follow them." Sam continues, as he finishes his sentence he turns and walks away.

You quickly follow, not before flashing a smug smile at Walker, you were proud of Sam's display but the smirk had the added bonus of winding up Walker and that is something you grabbed onto with both hands at every opportunity. No questions asked.

"Oh trust me, I'd rather be. But you two keep fucking up." John shouts.

You shake your head and glance at Sam. His jaw and fists were clenched... this went from being amusing to being worrying... you needed to find the flagsmashers and get Y/N before Sam lost his damn mind.

-back to Y/N Perspective-

You watch as the small group of flagsmashers you had with you are loading a small private plane with boxes of stolen supplies.

Although stolen, you weren't totally against this side of the agreement you made with Karli. It was food, water, clothing, shelters, stolen from the rich who were hoarding, giving it to the desperate across the world.

You watch them intricately stack the boxes onto the plane as you ticked off what was loaded on. You realise they hadn't made much progress. You sigh, throw your head back and gather the courage needed to boss around multiple super soldiers.

"Hurry it up." You bark out.

And suddenly, they all pick up the pace. No questions. No reactions and they were starting to get back on track, something you liked seeing.

"Someone's coming, let's go." Karli comes running back towards the plane, in a breathless panic. Her eyes always told the truth and she was scared.

Before you had time to react and hatch a plan, a member of the small team on the plane came running behind you, as he did he uttered words you'd never want to hear someone say.

"I'll hold them off." It was an instant suicide mission. This cause was not worth the life he was willing to just throw away, but unfortunately Karli never had the same views.

He stood in front of you both. Determination swarmed his face "Give you more time. Get out of here. One world. One people." He says. You look at praying she doesn't agree to it. But she does, nodding her head and reaching out to hug him.

They embrace for a couple of minutes. Holding on tightly to one another before he pulls away and sprints off towards the runway entrance.

You shake your head and scoff "Sure, let one of your own run off to his death. How noble."

"Just get on the plane Y/N. Do your job." She barks out at you.

You scramble to get on the plane. As you do, you see Karli has immediately taken a seat, next to a window overlooking where the team member went.

You see her face and demeanour changed. It almost resembled distress, hurt and pain. About time she got a taste of her own bitter medicine. It was a shame another innocent soul suffered the consequences of her movement.

As you watch over her shoulder, you see him lower his mask and charge straight for several government issued vehicles. Then began the gunfire. Within seconds he had fallen to the ground. No mercy, no hesitation, no second chance.

One of her own.

You tutted and shook your head. As you straightened up, you went to sit in your own seat but you heard a sniffle.

So you turn and see the stream of tears falling down Karlis stoic face. It shocked you, you didn't know she could display human emotion, let alone tears. You were sure they'd turn to ice with her.

"So tell me again Karli, what it was you were fighting for. Because right now, it doesn't seem worth the loss you're causing does it?" You ask rhetorically, mainly because you weren't interested in her response. You were done. You had a debt, you owed her your life.

But she never earned your respect.
