Battlestar

Chaos was breaking out, it was utter chaos. Bucky and Sam turning up was something you never saw coming from a mile off. NO psychic would have convinced you this could happen. 

You thought you had this handled. 

Clearly Sam got some new slippery skills when he became an avenger. Not to mention stubborn. 

"Buck! Buck!" Sam shouts with warning. 

"Sam. Stop. I've got eyes on her." was Bucky's response. Sweet but unnecessary, Sam knew full well you could hold your own.

As you were. But this wasn't the time to nitpick or put the boys in their place. 

You fight a flagsmasher off, forcing them to the floor winding them. As you turned around, your breath was fast and deep as you were trying to catch it and carry on, you see Walker being grabbed from behind and held into a bear hug. 

"Fuck sake Walker." you whisper under your breathe, frustrated. 

Then you see their plan, you watch as Karli is making a beeline right for Walker, and she weren't letting up anytime soon "oh hell no." you whisper determined. 

"She's mine!" you belt out as you make the same unapologetic beeline towards her, with no intention of stopping till you stopped her. 

As she slides over a table to Walker, you tackle her legs forcing her to the ground. Before she has chance to get up, you jump onto her, swinging yourself round her to pull her back down to the ground. This manages to pull her attention from Walker onto you. 

Going toe-to-toe in hand to hand combat was going to be interesting with a super soldier, but you were hoping the practice she'd given you all those years ago would still hold up and give you some edge to hold her.

What you didn't account for was... Lemar. 

He tries to pull the same move the flagsmasher pulled on Walker and attempts to grab Karli from behind, except she was a lot stronger, a lot more pissed and alert. 

She shoves him off. With super solider force. You watch in slow motion as Lemar is thrown through the air and hits a concrete pillar head first, falling to the floor in a slump. Your stomach taking the same drop.

"Wha-wh-what just happened?" you trickle out.

At you saying this all action comes to a halt, you turn in shock to see Sam and Bucky immediately turning their attention to you, you watch as their faces fall in the realisation of Lemar. 

Then you remember about Walker. Even the flagsmashers were in shock as they all let go of everyone and take their own steps away from the fight. Everyone's jaws hit the floor, breath hitched, gulping, confused looks all around. 

But the look that devastated you was Walker. The disbelief, the pain, the anguish. You hated the man more than you could ever explain or quantify but that was his bestfriend, his comrade, his second in command. 

This was Bucky losing Steve. Sam losing Riley. You losing Sam. 

That's a pain you'd never wish on your nemesis... and you weren't. 

"No, no, no, no" Walker pleaded, in pain.

"No, no, you're okay. You're okay! Come on Lemar!" Walker now screamed, begging, the panic breaking your heart that much further. 

"Open your eyes." Walker continued desperately as he grabbed Lemar's face by his cheeks, raising his lifeless head to look at him, shaking him, tapping him "Come on..." he whispers "OPEN YOUR EYES!" He screams, as the tears flood his face, his voice cracks completely and no amount of hate could want you to have him go through what he was living.

Re-living this kind of pain made you angry, something else Karli went and ruined. Lemar didn't deserve this, hell Walker didn't deserve this. 

You turn back to her and see her face is as shocked as everyone else, she even looks scared. That in itself was chilling, but then again... she was always in over her head, but this was your breaking point.

"One body too many Morgenthau." you warn. 

You go to grab her and she and her followers make a dart for any exit they can find in the vicinity.

"Oh no you fucking don't." You shout after her, as you charge after her.

"I'll get Karli, you get-" Bucky starts.

"Way ahead of you." Sam finishes, as they both follow you without hesitation. 

As your chasing after Karli, naturally she was faster than you, not that would have stopped you, but it meant you were still quite close to the building. You hear an almighty crash and shattering of glass falling followed by a loud impact. 

You turn to see an unharmed, perfectly stanced John Walker.

"I knew you would." you say quietly, disappointed yet not surprised. 

He watches as a couple of flagsmashers are straggling behind hoping to flee quietly and slip away as we were all distracted with Karli, but Walker spots him and makes after him, with the same speed and agility. 

You go to follow when you're quite literally swept off your feet. 

"What the?" you say bemused.
