-Sam's Perspective-
You're sitting in your sister's office sorting through bills, loans, and receipts trying to figure out anyway you can to save your family boat.
"Breaking news. Reports have come through that another attack from the rebellion group known as the flagsmashers took place lastnight." The elderly and well spoken news anchor announced, breaking the usual programming you were using as background noise.
You slowly raise your head and turn to face the TV fully, as you leant forwards, resting your forearms on your thighs. The news shocking you completely.
"Early hours of this morning, a GRC building was bombed. Our initial findings tell us over 20 have been confirmed dead, with multiple still missing." The anchor continued, his voice breaking, you watched on in horror as you saw the difficulty he had making this broadcast.
"Jesus christ Sam, could this have been Y/N?" Bucky asks in disbelief, startling you as you forget anyone else was with you.
You take a deep breathe "I hope not." You mutter out in a hushed tone.
"We are still continuing the search amongst the debris, we have one suspected member in our custody, undergoing questioning thanks to a tip from our very own..." the anchor pauses as he smiles. "Captain America."
You interlock your fingers, the grip on the lock tightening by the second you could feel the blood flow slowing to the tips of your fingers. You were seething. Even for Walker this was a new low.
"He give her name." You hush out through gritted teeth.
Bucky was just as angry, he tilted his head, shaking it slightly as pushed his tongue against the inside of his lower lips, sucking on his teeth.
"We need to find them. We need to find her. Now." You belt out with determination. The rage burning through every logical and rational thought that tried entering your head.
Bucky sighs, still shaking his head. He looks down "some Captain America he turned out to be." He mutters as he looks down.
He then snaps his head up, rising to his feet and headed to the door. Swiping his leather jacket as he went past it. "Let's go." He stated.
~The Night Before~
-Karli's Perspective-
You clamber into the car, rushed as you removed your mask from your face.
"That should do it." You breathlessly mutter to yourself, pride rising in your chest.
"What was we even doing?" Your right hand flagsmasher asked, just as breathless.
You can't help the smile that creeps across your lips "you'll see." You reply.
As he looks at you confused. A bright, loud and heated explosion goes off behind you, shaking your car, causing you both to duck for cover as the flames surround you for a split second as the bomb detonates behind you.
As you turn round you see the building engulfed in an inferno. You smile once more as everything you have planned so far has gone perfectly to plan.
Your right hand man is frantically looking between you and the explosion behind you, your peripheral vision seeing the distress consuming him.
"Karli, what the hell there were innocent people in there." He shouts, panicked and stuttering.
You furrow your brows, straightening yourself so you are facing him head on. Focusing yourself on him, reading his body language and face to understand the turmoil better.
"None of them are innocent." You say back cooly.
You watch on in curiosity as you see him visibly recoil from you, furrowing his brows as his breathing shallows and quickens... panicking yet again.
-Y/N Perspective-
You couldn't handle this level of guilt. No amount of debts owed could let you live with what she was going to do. You were running back down the road.
You were minutes away, youncould see the building ahead of you. But you were too late, the blast zone of the explosion could be felt as it blew against you.
Your heart felt like it stopped. You broke down instantly, screaming in agony, regret and guilt. You roar "NO!" At the top of your lungs.
The emotion becoming too much, this was something you never wanted. You fall to your knees, the harshness of the connection with the concrete not phasing you. You couldn't feel any other than the crushing pain in your chest.
"DAMN YOU KARLI, FUCK YOUUU!" You screech out through the tears and the screams.
You lean forwards curling yourself into a ball as you sobbed your guilt out. Everything felt numb, everything melted away, it was just the pain you could feel.
Which is probably why you couldn't register what happened next.
"You're coming with us, flagsmasher." An obnoxious, nasally, male voice spoke over you. You could hear the pride in his voice.
Not that you cared. You were broken beyond recognition, she had pushed you to your breaking point. You were completely disheartened.
As you're lifted from the floor, you feel your arms pulled around the back of you and the coldness of the metal from the cuffs wrapping around your wrists, as to firm hands, grip your upper arms.
You couldn't break your sight on that building as you're pushed into the back of a car... only when the door shuts do you register what is happening.
Well this is fucking fantastic.
