Back in the Right Hands

-Sam's Perspective-

The fight between me, Bucky and John was still raging on, no punches were being held back, no throws too hard, nothing was off limits. 

John swings the shield backwards catching me off guard and forcing me backwards, it happens too quick for me to get my jets on to break or stop my impact with the floor.  As I connect with the floor, it winds me, as I'm catching my breathe, John has overpowered Bucky.

Bucky is down on one of his knees, trying to hold John of as he presses the shield into Bucky with all the force he can muster. 

"You're not taking my shield." he growls out possessively, and a little demented. 

As Bucky's face goes red from the strain of pushing back on John and the shield he grunts out "It was never yours."

This angers John to no end and he releases the pressure on Bucky and instead hits him in the face with the shield with every ounce of strength and force he has in him, sending Bucky flying against one of the main steel beams. You see the sparkles of electric break through his arm as he impacts the floor. 

-Y/N Perspective-

"You've lost Karli." you say gently "There's no way out, it's done. Over. Just give up."

She smiles smugly "if you truly think that, you're dumber than I thought." she taunts you. Or attempts to. 

You hang your head to the side, furrowing your brows, the intrigue too much to ignore. 

"There's always going to be someone else." Karli goes onto explain. 

You dip your mouth in a gesture of slight agreement, but then you shake your head "Seems you overestimated how popular your little "movement" was Karli."

She seems confused until she looks to her right and sees one of her other right hand men walking in. "Y/N it's ready." he informs you. Karli looking between you with a look of betrayal and confusion, which heightens the smug look on your face.

-Sam's Perspective-

"You can't take back what you gave up Sam." John was getting desperate, the pleading in his voice made it quite sad to see how low he had came. 

"Watch me." you taunt back as you fly towards, kicking him backwards, forcing him to slide across the floor on his back. 

You go to attack him whilst he was down, but preempting this attack, John gets to his feet quicker than you expected, gripping onto you and flipping you onto your own back, using the same move on Tony that Steve used back in the days of the Sokovian Accords and Bucky's freedom war. Pinning you with the shield. 

"I told you, you can't have it!!" John screams, having completely lost his mind. He mercilessly tears one of your wings from your jet pack, throwing it behind him. You go to fight him off as he reaches for the shield, mimicking the massacre that started all of this. 

You close your eyes not prepared to watch your death heading for you, until you hear the familiar desperate scream of Bucky as he charges at John, taking him down to the floor. As they both go rolling, Bucky gets up ready to pin Walker against a beam. 

You seize the opportunity to grab hold of the shield whilst it was still attached to John's arm. "Let go of it." you scream at John. Bucky pulls John forward before pushing him back against the beam with more force "I will break it Walker. Let. It. Go." Bucky barks at John. 

The last option was to do what Bucky said, so using the jets, you force Walker's arm backwards, hearing the cracks, and crunches amongst John's screams. He fights back against Bucky as I fly away with the shield. 

John comes charging at me as I go to land, so after giving a knowing and understanding nod to Bucky, we both charge at John, forcing us all backwards, I'm on my back, John's passed out from the pain and Bucky is on his knees. 

Out of breath, he sits back on his heels and takes long, deep breathes, as he composes himself. He then gets up, picking up the shield as I'm pulling myself up to a sitting position. Everything aching, bruised and my lungs feeling like they were going to explode. 

He drops it at my feet, apologetically and annoyed.

"I'm going to check on Y/N." he grunts out as he storms off in the other direction.
