Chapter 4| Acquaintance

"So I heard you are in love with football." I said to Ryker as we walked into the school.

"Well you heard right." He responded holding the door opened for me.

"What are you quarterback?" I asked.

He shook his head.

"Receiver." He responded.

I nodded.

"Luke told me you where captain of pretty much every team?"
Ryker chuckled.

"For most, not football tho. Juniors can't be captions for the football team."

"Oh, well what sport you playing now?"

"Oh Jayden stop flirting." Tucker growled.

I glared at him.

"It's Jade, and I'm not flirting," I hissed.

Ryker chuckled.

"Baseball." He replied.

I nodded.

"That's cool."

"So, I heard my parents talking about you last night. Saying how you where dropped off by some kid named Tyler. Now don't think so rudely of me for asking but who was he. Brother, friend, boyfriend?"

This shocked me, who would care about Tyler?

"Why do you care about Tyler?"

"Oh somebody is protective over some guy." Tucker smirked.

I had almost forgot he was there.

I glared at him.

"Tyler Harrison." Ryker said as we walked into the office.

I nodded slowly. What did he know about Tyler and why did he want to know about him?

"Hello, Tucker, Ryker." A lady at the front desk said.

I turned my attention to her instead of Ryker.

"Hello, Mrs. Peterson." Tucker responded.

"You see we have new student here with us."

"I've heard." She said turning and rummaging through a box.

"Did Mr. Williams adopt again?" She asked grabbing a folder.

"No just a family friend." He reassured her.

She nodded handing me a folder with my name on it.

"Here you go dear, your schedule is in there and everything." She said giving me a warm smile.

We left the office as Tucker went through my schedule.

"So this Tyler Harrison?" Ryker brought up.

I sighed.

"His a good friend of mine."

"I've got a question why'd you come live with us. I mean why not your father he seems plenty rich as our father." Tucker asked handing me my schedule.

"First of all Tom Michael is not my real dad. He is my step father." I replied.

"Well that's news. Tell us more." Tucker said sarcastically.

Ryker hit his shoulder.

"What about your mother?" Ryker asked.

I sighed.

"She hates me. I'm apparently the reason she couldn't live her life to the fullest. You see. My mother and father where crazy in love or so they thought. My mom found out she was pregnant with me and well she hated the thought. Her father wouldn't allow it unless she married him. So she did because she couldn't bare the thought of sending me away. We haven't been that close really." I said staring down at my schedule.
