"We'll find a way, I promise you."

"This is a really bad idea!" I whisper yelled to Yelena who creaked open my door as quietly as she could. She suggested that we should wait in my room for a while until it was late at night so we had better chances of sneaking out.

"Stay quiet and we won't get caught!" She whispered back, looking left and right down the hall. She waved to me, indicating that it was safe to leave the room.

This is stupid. This is so stupid. We're going to get caught and Ill get locked up and Yelena will get executed. I repeated to myself, cursing under my breath.

Yelena stood in front of me, leading the way. It would make more sense for her to be out of the room than it would for me. In fact, I'm not completely sure if I'm allowed out of my room right now.

Yelena glances down every hallway, making sure nobody was around. Ive never been around the castle when it was this quiet. It felt so empty. I knew sneaking through the castle wasn't going to be the hard part. The hard part was leaving the castle.

Earlier

"And how will we exit the castle without getting caught?" I ask, making sure that she's thought out every part of her plan.

"There's a supply closet downstairs. We could change into the knights armor and act like we're going out to patrol the city."

"But Lena, they know everyone's schedule."

"Ill pass a note telling them that there's going to be a change."

"And they'll just believe it?"

""Ill find a way to get it delivered by someone they trust."

"What if they ask for our identification when we leave the castle in all that armor?"

"Ill go before you. Once they question me, we'll be able to move on together."

"This doesn't sound so sure, Yelena." I rubbed my forehead, dreading the thought that we capsule actually get caught. And there would be consequences for this.

"You can trust me, okay (Name). I swear to you that we'll get you out of this castle and out of that marriage."

"If you can get me out of here, Lena," I start with a sigh, "Then I'm marrying you."

The tip of her ears turned red. "R-really?" I nod. "I look forward to it, then."

Now

My head snapped around as I heard a couple voices coming down the hall. Yelena seemed to notice too. It also looked like she was starting to panic.

"Lena.." I whisper.

We're caught. This is all over. God, I knew this was stupid.

"Get in!" She whispered, pulling on my arm and pushing me in a closet. She stepped in behind me, her stomach on my back, pushing me against the wall and she closed the door. The space was very tight and it was hard to hear the people outside over our own breath.

How would we know when they've left?

"Why are they out in the hallway in the middle of the night?" I whisper.

"I don't know? Maybe switching out positions with other people?" Yelena suggested. I took a deep breath in. We really cannot get caught.

"If we just stay here for a couple minutes, I can step out and see if they've left. I won't get in trouble for this like you would." She whispers. "Do we have anything in here I can use as an excuse?"
