My hands were raw, red from the climb, and I could feel the familiar burning sensation creeping up my palms and fingers. It stung, but I pushed through it, just like I always did. How did they make it look so easy?

"Almost there," Vi said, her voice steady despite the effort. She reached down and grabbed my arm, pulling me up with surprising strength. My feet found solid ground as she helped me to my feet, and I quickly steadied myself, sucking in a breath.

Vi gave me a quick, satisfied grin before calling out, "Hey, Powder! Come take a look!"

I glanced back over my shoulder, watching as Powder struggled to pull herself up, gasping for air, her face flushed from the climb. Slowly, she made her way over to us, her pace slower but determined. "Woah," she whispered as she stood beside me

"It's nice getting above it all huh?"

Claggor finally made it up to the top, huffing and puffing, his face red from the climb. He stood beside us, hands resting on his knees as he caught his breath. I couldn't blame him—getting up here wasn't exactly easy, and the boy wasn't known for his stamina.

We all look up and take a look at the airship passing by above us.

"One day, im gonna ride on one of those things." Powder commented.

Mylo walking up in front of us. "And one day, I'm gonna shoot one of them down." Him putting his arm up, making his fingers into a gun form and pretending to shoot it.

I laughed. "Let's see if you do."

He rolled his eyes with a dramatic sigh.

Vi, however, wasn't waiting around for any more conversation. With a swift motion, she began walking away from the edge, brushing past us with purpose. She was already on a path she'd walked a hundred times before.

"Vi, are you sure about this?" Claggor's voice was filled with hesitation, his worried gaze following her every step. He looked genuinely concerned, his brow furrowed. "Look, if we get caught—"

Vi cut him off, "We're not going to get caught," she said, her voice cool and confident. Before any of us could say another word, she jumped down from the edge.

We hesitated for a moment, but then she called up to us, "Come on! We'll be in and out before anyone notices."

The wind was sharp up here, cutting through the space between the rooftops. We were high enough that no one on the streets below would be able to see us, which was a relief. Not that I imagined anyone would be looking up, but with our luck, it wasn't something I wanted to risk.

Claggor still wasn't convinced, but he followed her lead, clearly unwilling to be left behind. "You say that, but—"

"It'll be fine," she reassured him, though I could see his nerves hadn't exactly been calmed. His wide eyes darted back and forth as if looking for an escape route, but we were already too far in.
