"Princess my ass, don't bullshit me." She hopped over to the other side of the counter with an annoyed look on her face.
She had changed. I could see it in the way she carried herself now—more guarded, more distant. I didn't blame her. I'd been gone for so long, and there was no way to make up for the time lost. But I also knew she didn't understand the full truth behind why I left her, why I had to leave. The reasons were complicated—ones I wasn't sure how to explain to her.
"I'm not bullshitting you," I said, my voice tense with frustration. "Just listen for once, will you?"
Caitlyn, still standing beside me, seemed just as confused. "Who's this?" she asked, her tone a mix of curiosity and skepticism. It was clear she didn't know who she was, which only added to the already tense atmosphere.
She didn't seem to care for the interruption. "Oh, great. Another one. What do you guys want?" Her voice was sharp—like she was ready for whatever came next, but not interested in engaging. She had just finished preparing a drink, the glass held tightly in her hand, and her posture made it clear she was already preparing to move on with her night.
I could feel Caitlyn getting impatient, clearly wanting to jump in. "Excuse you, I'm not defined as—" she began, but I quickly cut her off. This wasn't the time for her to get into it, not when I had so much to explain.
"Stop being hard-headed and just listen to me," I said, my voice firm, trying to keep the situation from escalating. I could see her gaze shift, her eyes narrowing at my tone, but she didn't immediately react. She only took another sip of her drink and placed it down on the counter with a soft thud. The tension hung in the air as she eyed me, waiting for me to continue.
"Hm. Go on," she said finally, her words laced with a mixture of curiosity and indifference. It was clear she wasn't fully buying what I was saying, but at least she was giving me a chance to explain.

your povIt was almost laughable. After seven years, she came back like nothing happened? And she brought someone with her—probably one of her girlfriends, knowing her. Honestly, I didn't care at this point. She couldn't just waltz back in here expecting everything to be the same, as if time hadn't passed, as if we hadn't all changed. And now she wanted to ask about Powder? Just... unbelievable.
I had half a mind to just pour myself another drink and move on, but she was pressing for answers, and that, I suppose, deserved a response.
"Do you know what happened to Powder?" she asked, a hint of concern—or maybe curiosity—lacing her voice.
"Powder?" I scoffed, the irony of it hitting me hard. "You mean Jinx?" I couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity. "Welcome to a new world, Violet. I don't know where you've been, but shit hasn't been the same. A lot's changed... and so have we."
