vi's pov

I shoved the boy backwards, sending him crashing into the wooden crates behind him. Spitting on the ground, I was determined to finish what had started.

I had turned around to see Mylo getting punched at. No offense, but Mylo was clearly outmatched by his opponent. Without hesitation, I turned, grabbing a sturdy piece of wood that was propped up against the wall and hit his head. The boy stumbled, and hit the cold ground hard.

Left him unconscious.

"Well, this day's turning out better than I expected," Mylo remarked, pretending earlier didn't happen, This day's turning out all right after all." Mylo remarked, pretending earlier didn't happen. Whatever keeps his spirits up, I thought, glancing at him briefly.

"Wait!" The boy gasped, panting heavily. We turn to see him catch his breath, clutching onto a pocket knife.

I walked over to him, crouching down to his level, and held his gaze. My eyes flickered towards the knife and then back to his eyes. "Want to find out how that ends?"I asked, my tone calm, expression unreadable.

He stared back for a moment, then dropped the knife scrambling backwards before turning to flee.

I straightened and turned to Mylo. "Vi, where's Powder and y/n?"

your POV

I tackled him to the ground, telling Powder to run, not knowing if she did or not. I punched him in the face as he did the same to me, making my nose bleed. Noticing a change in his actions, I backed away as he took out his pocket knife.

"All right, no need to be so defensive," I sighed.

He glanced at his pocket knife, waving it mockingly as though he expected me to chase for it. "Want a piece of this?"

I raised my eyebrow, unamused. Do I look like a dog?

"No, not really." I smudged the blood on my hand as I was wiping it off my face.

Oh, Powder did run away, I just hope she found Vi and the rest of the crew.

"So, how's it going?" I asked casually, keep my tone light. If I can just distract him long enough, I can knock him unconscious. Sometimes victory is all about having good tactics. It shouldn't be too difficult—at least that's what I told myself.

Yet even as I thought about it, I could feel exhaustion weighing me down. I was a moment away from nearly collapsing.

The boy smirked, clearly amused by my attempt to keep going. "Just tell your friends over there to hand over the bag, and we'll be on our way."
