I stepped into the room, the door closing behind me with a soft click. The weight of the decision I had made settled in my chest, but there was no turning back. I had left Caitlyn and y/n behind. It wasn't easy. In fact, it tore at me, but I couldn't drag them into this. This was my fight with her—Jinx—and Silco, the man who had shaped her into a weapon. They deserved better than to be caught in the crossfire.

Still, as I walked into the dimly lit room, a nagging guilt gnawed at me. A part of me wondered if I had made the right choice. Should I have stayed with them? Should I have trusted them to see this through with me?

The counselor turned slowly to face me, his expression unreadable but sharp. "Do you want to make Silco pay for what he's done?" I asked, my voice steady.

He regarded me with a cool, disinterested stare. "I could have you arrested."

I snorted, walking casually around the room, my fingertips grazing the cool surface of the weapons displayed on the walls. "You guys really like to bandy that threat around," I said, almost amused. "Ever been to Stillwater?" I stopped mid-sentence, catching myself.

He didn't respond, his back to me, silent.

I shook my head. "No? Didn't think so," I muttered under my breath, before raising my voice again. "So you just wave your arm, have someone dragged off, and don't bother to find out what it does to someone?" I looked at him, my tone sharper now. "Being stuffed in a stone box for weeks, months, maybe even years?"

The counselor sighed quietly, the sound almost imperceptible. "Yeah," he said, his voice low, "I want to make Silco pay." There was an edge to his words, but also a quiet frustration.

"Good," I replied, my voice unwavering. "I want in."

He finally turned to face me fully, his expression hardening. "There is no 'in,'" he said, the finality in his voice clear. "You heard the Council."

"Fuck the Council."

"You said you were tired of doing nothing. That's the only sensible thing that came out of anyone's mouth tonight." I took a step closer, my eyes locking with his. "I'm not here to sit around and wait for some diplomatic solution that's never coming."

"I'm not a vigilante," he said, his voice firm, almost apologetic.

"No, you're a victim." I put my hand into the big glove type of machine, in which it reminded me of Vander. It started to glow bright blue. "This so people notice you when you raise your hand in the boardroom?"

The counselor didn't flinch. "No," he said simply. "We make those." He paused, eyeing me carefully. "What do you even want me to do about Silco?"

I straightened, my gaze focused and intense. "Take out his manufacturing facilities," I said with quiet determination. "Hit him hard and fast, before he has time to react. We don't give him a chance to regroup, to plot his next move."
