Cop VS Criminal - Eyeball Chambers

Chris grumbled as he rolled over and saw his brother still fast asleep next to him, Athena was also still out of it but was facing way from him and had her head cuddled into Eyeball's neck. He smiled slightly at the sight as he sat up and stretched. That was the best nights sleep he'd ever had.

Looking down he saw Athena begin to stir, which ended up waking up Eyeball too, as they were both wrapped up in each other. She gave him a warm smile as she reached out and gently stroked his cheek, he winced slightly but felt comforted by her touch.

"How are you feeling this morning? Your cuts beginning to scab over now." She said as Eyeball grumbled and tried rolling over, Chris knew he wasn't a morning person.

"I'm okay." He mumbled. "Thank you for that by the way."

She smiled as she sat up and opened her arms to him, he leant over and hugged her tight.

"I told you nothing would happen while I'm here."

Chris smiled into her as he felt nothing but love and protection. He never wanted to let go. However a knock at the door did it. Athena's head shot to the door.

"Dad." She whispered as she quickly climbed out from under the blankets and hopped over Eyeball's still grumbling body.

Chris leapt out of bed as Athena half panicked trying to figure out what to do. She quickly went over to the door and told her dad to give her a couple of seconds before rushing back over to Eyeball and began tugging at his arm.

"Eyeball! Wake your ass up!" She whisper shouted at him yet received nothing but a grumble in response.

She sighed.

"Sorry Richard." She whispered as she grabbed hold of his arm and yanked as hard as she could.

He landed on the floor with a thud as Athena told her dad it was nothing. He grumbled right back at her as she quickly began shuffling him under the bed. Chris crouched down and slid under the bed as well, alongside his brother. They shared grumbled looks as they watched Athena rush over to the door and open it.

8 paws instantly came rushing in and within seconds the dogs were trying to shove their heads under the bed, eager to get to Chris and Eyeball. They tried their best to wave the dogs away but it wasn't working as Max and Jax continued to try almost digging their way under.

"What you got under there?" Athena's dad asked with a laugh pointing at the bed.

Chris and Eyeball.

"Think it's their treats or something." Athena muttered as she attempted to pull on their collars but it wasn't working.

They were gonna get these boys.

Athena quickly got their bowl and filled it up with their normal breakfast and put it down. Jax quickly lost interest in the boys and dove on the food but Max wouldn't let it go.

"Okay well I'll be out by the car when you're ready." He mumbled quietly.

She nodded slowly. He reached out and gently stroked her cheek before kissing her head and walking out, shutting the door behind him. Athena let out a sigh as she watched Chris shuffle out as heard Eyeball grumble because Max was blocking him in. She laughed as she began yanking on Max so Eyeball could finally shuffle out.

"Never have I hid under a girls bed with my baby brother." He mumbled as he brushed himself off.

"Oh but you've hid under a girls bed before?" She asked crossing her arms.

He looked up and winked at her causing them both to laugh. She sighed, shaking her head before heading over to where some of her clothes were hanging up, pulling out a long black dress she grabbed clean underwear and turned to the brothers.

"Wait till I'm changed and gone then you can both have a shower."

They both nodded as they took a seat on her bed, Jax had finished eating and leapt up with them and began fussing over Chris as Max finally decided he wanted to eat. Athena gave them a smile before heading into the bathroom and shutting the door.

"You like her don't you?" Chris finally spoke up when he heard the sound of the shower.

Eyeball shrugged slightly as he half ignored the question.

"Why don't you just tell her?" Chris asked again.

"Because she ain't gonna date a criminal and she's leaving soon anyway." Eyeball almost half snapped back at his brother.

"She might wanna stay if you.."

He was cut off by his receiving a glare.

"Just saying, you're not Ace. You don't always have to be the bad guy." Chris mumbled back.

Eyeball grumbled something under his breath as he turned to face Max, who had began nudging his hands, wanting affection.

"Why'd you care so much?" Eyeball grumbled eventually, still not facing his brother.

"Because I can see you like her and I can see she likes-"

He was cut off by the bathroom door opening and Athena walking back out. She took a deep breath as both boys noticed her cheeks were red and puffy, she'd been crying. Brushing down her dress she looked up at both of them.

"Do I look okay?" She asked.

Max and Jax instantly leapt over to her side and began licking her hands, sensing her pain. Eyeball stood up and let his eyes take in her small frame covered by the plain black dress that stopped mid calf. It had lace going down her sleeves which stopped mid forearm as she gently tugged it down.

"You look beautiful." He managed to finally say.

A weak smile appeared on her face.

"Thanks."

"You do look really pretty Thena." Chris said as he smiled up at her.

She smiled again down at him as she let out another deep breath, like she was trying to stop herself from crying.

"Thanks Chris."

They both smiled at her as she looked down at the dogs and smiled, gently scratching their heads. Eyeball looked over and saw her black leather jacket. He walked over and held it up for her, she smiled as she turned and allowed him to put it on her. Untucking her hair she walked over and grabbed her room key and badge. Clipping it on her jacket she turned to face both boys.

"Take a shower and that." She mumbled, like she was trying to find the words.

"Yeah we got this." Eyeball nodded as he stepped closer. "You gonna be okay?"

She took another deep breath and nodded at him. "I got this."

"You got this." He mumbled in return. "Remember what I said in the graveyard?"

She smiled up at him and quickly nodded, "there but not there."

He smiled and nodded back at her. She took one more deep breath before looking back down at the dogs.

"Come on boys." She mumbled as she turned and walked straight past Eyeball and went out the door, without a second glance.

Chris laughed slightly as he nodded.

"You definitely like her."

"Shut up." He snapped as he pulled his top off and chucked it at his laughing brother.
