Cop VS Criminal - Eyeball Chambers

Athena finished cleaning up Eyeball as Chris brought them all in some food. They ate in silence as Chris kept trying to keep his food away from the dogs.

"So are you looking forward to your first day tomorrow?" Chris finally spoke up as he finished eating.

Athena nodded slowly. "I have a feeling I'm gonna be very busy."

"You're gonna have so many cool cop stories!" Chris said excitedly as he quickly cleaned the plates up and took them in the kitchen, chatting away to himself about how amazing it will be to hear about them all.

Athena slowly turned to Eyeball, who was staring at his lap.

"Thinking about Ace?" She asked quietly.

He nodded slowly before looking up at her.

"I don't think I can go through with it. He's my best friend."

"You have a weird friendship." She mumbled as she brought her hand up to his cheek, letting her thumb graze over his cut lip.

"No weirdo than the one I have with the new copper." He said, a small smirk tugged on his lips.

Athena laughed and nodded. "Oh? And why's that weird?" She asked playing along.

Eyeball shrugged as he stared into her eyes. "Well to be begin with she's the most beautiful." He pause kissing her cheek. "The most incredible." He kissed her other cheek. "Woman I've ever met." He kissed her lips gently as she giggled.

"You make that sound like it's a bad thing?" She asked, raising her eyebrow as she pulled away.

"It makes things as complicated as they were when I first met her."

"How come?"

Eyeball sighed slightly. "See, she's this copper but me? I'm from the opposing team let's see."

She sighed as she brought her other hand up to his face. "You never thought about going straight?"

"Well I could hardly ask her to join my side." He mumbled.

She shook her head. "Yeah that's out of the question."

He nodded slowly. "There it is, either I go straight or I lose her." His voice trailed off as he rested a hand on her lap.

"Which do you want?" She whispered, their foreheads pressed against each other.

"I want-"

He was interrupted by Chris quickly barging back into the room, he stared down at his brother and Athena and quickly blushed slightly.

"My bad... I'll just take the dogs out if that's cool?" He mumbled.

Athena nodded and pulled away from Eyeball slightly. "You remember where their chains are?"

He nodded and quickly left, calling the dogs along behind him. She turned back to Eyeball.

"I want this." He mumbled.

"This?"

Eyeball jumped up as he heard Chris leave and shut the door. He gestured around the house.

"This! All of this! I want you! I want that little shitbag out there! I want the dynamic duo! I want it all!"

Athena smiled slightly as she stood up, facing him.

"So take it. Take all of it." She said as she held her hands out to him.

He stepped closer and took her hands in his.

"I want it all." He mumbled as she leant up and nudged his nose with hers.

"It's all here waiting for you Richie. You just gotta reach out and take it."

"How?"

"Well for starters you gotta sort things with Ace."

Eyeball stepped back slightly.

"We talking about the same Ace Merrill?"

Athena smiled and nodded. "I think I got an idea for that."

She let go of Eyeball and grabbed the newspaper she'd picked up while shopping, flicking through the pages she folded it back and held it out to Eyeball.

He hesitated but reached out and took it from her as she pointed down to a square. His eyes flickered as he scanned the ad before he looked up at her.

"It was made for him."

She nodded and smiled. "So... first things first, sort things with Ace."

He grinned down at her before leaning down and planting a soft kiss on her cheek.

"Later officer beautiful."

And with that he disappeared out the front door, Athena laughed as she watched him hurry off, clearly running through the pain.

She spent the rest of the day unpacking the rest of the stuff and washing the blooded cloth. Chris soon returned with the dogs and the pair were soon sat on the sofa reading comics for the rest of the evening.

Athena watched as it got darker outside causing her to switch on a light yet the comics were slowly being read till Chris dropped his.

Athena quickly looked down and  smile of relief came on her face. He'd fallen asleep. Gently getting up she grabbed a blanket from the side and lay it over him.

Taking the comic from his hand she placed it on the side as she watched Max walk over and lay down on the floor next to him. She gently scratched his head.

"Good boy." She whispered.

"Goodnight Chris. Tomorrow will be your fresh start, I promise." She whispered as she leant over and gently kissed his head.

Just as she straightened up she heard a small tap at the door. Jax went straight over as she followed before opening it.

Eyeball beamed at her as he walked in and she gently shut the door, locking it. She turned to follow him in the living room but not before taking one of the spare keys hanging with the rest.

"Suppose he's kinda cute asleep." She heard him whisper as she stood next to him and gently placed a hand on his back.

"He is I'll give you that." She agreed as Jax appeared, jumping himself up on the other end of the sofa.

Chris stirred slightly as Jax lay his head down on Chris's lap.

"God I want it all." Eyeball mumbled again.

Athena smiled and held up the spare key to him.

"So take it."
