Cop VS Criminal - Eyeball Chambers

Welcome to Castle Rock K9

Athena and her dad had both picked out their dream Castle Rock home and finally sorted the paperwork out to get it in motion.

The pair left the building and were greeted warmly by the dogs just as a police car pulled up. Danny hung his head out the window.

"Mr Lachance I hate to do this but do you mind if I steal your daughter for a bit?"

Athena's dad laughed slightly. "I thought you were the good guys?" He questioned.

Danny laughed and nodded. "Trust me this will be good."

Athena turned to her dad and he nodded.

"Go, I gotta make some calls to home, get things sorted."

She nodded slowly as she leant up and gave him a gentle kiss on the cheek before heading over to the car. Letting Jax and Max in the backseat she was soon buckled up in the passenger side as Danny drove off.

"So where we going?" She asked as he drove through Castle Rock.

"You'll see." He answered with a cheeky smile.

They soon pulled up outside the station. She was confused but followed him out as he let the dogs free. They soon came by Athena's side as Danny led the way up to the front doors.

As he opened them and Athena walked in her mouth dropped slightly. Police officers lined a walkway up to the front desk where the Sheriff she had met before was standing.

She turned to Danny confused but he just winked and nodded her forward. Athena began walking towards the Sheriff as the lined up officers all saluted in sync. Max and Jax stuck by her side as she walked along slowly.

"Officer Lachance. Officers Max and Jax. Welcome to the Castle Rock station, K-9 unit." He said as the other officers dropped their salute.

Her hands flew to her mouth as he turned and picked up a shirt, offering it out to her. The name badge showing read Lachance. She slowly reached out and accepted it.

"But... what about my old station?" She asked, in pure shock.

"All dealt with. They're sad to see you three go but reckon you're gonna flourish out here." He replied with a smile.

He crouched down to both dogs.

"It's a pleasure to have you with us gentlemen." He said as he produced two bones from his jacket pockets.

The dogs instantly happily accepted and began chomping away as Athena looked back up at her new boss.

"Are you sure?" She asked quietly. This all felt like a dream.

He nodded and held out his hand.

"Welcome to Castle Rock K9."

The smile only grew as she shook his hand and the other officers all cheered. Relaxing they all gave her their congratulations and fussed over their new K9 team.

"Looks like you're stuck with me now Blue."

She turned and saw Danny smiling down at her. Happily she leapt into his arms and hugged him tight as he laughed.

"You happy there Blue?"

She pulled away and looked down at the shirt in her hands. Smiling she looked back up at him.

"Happier than happy."

"I'm glad love. Your first shift is in a couple of days and don't worry you'll get time off to sort out your new house."

She gave him a confused look.

"I picked you up outside the estate agents. I can only imagine it's with good news?"

She quickly smiled and nodded.

"I'm getting my own home, 2 bedrooms, cute little house."

Danny smiled down at her.

"I'm happy for you Blue, just be sure you give me a call when you're all settled in."

"Oh? How come?" She asked, crossing her arms.

"Well I wouldn't want you to get all lonely in that empty house." He replied with a smirk.

"And who said I'll be lonely?" She asked back confidently.

He placed his hand on his chest. "That hurts you know?" He said with a laugh.

Laughing back she gently shoved him as she felt her stomach growl. He'd clearly heard it too as he laughed looking down at her.

"I technically finished half an hour ago. Fancy some grub?"

She nodded, smiling at him as she said goodbye to all the officers and got the dogs on her heel as the 4 walked out and jumped back into Danny's car.

He soon pulled up outside the Blue Point as the four all hopped out and headed inside. They found a booth as Jax hopped up next to Danny and Max sat in next to Athena.

They ordered food as they chatted about her new job and new house. The conversation flowed so easily as Athena remembered how easy it was being with Danny, he always listened to everything she'd said and never once judged her.

Just as the waitress brought over their food her eyes fell on the front door as she watched Eyeball and 2 other cobras walk in. His eyes caught hers almost immediately and she saw him visibly tense up at the sight of her sat with Danny.

Danny scoffed under his breath slightly as he noticed Eyeball and the others before turning back to Athena.

"Don't worry about them Blue, they're just a bunch of criminals. Nothing you and the boys can't handle." He said with a smile as he fed Jax the rest of his burger.

Athena nodded slowly but was unable to tear her eyes away from the man she was slowly falling for. Danny continued talking to her but she wasn't paying attention, her gaze was fixated on Eyeball as she fought against herself from leaping up into his arms.

"So what do you think?"

She finally snapped from her gaze and looked back at Danny. What had he said?

"Yeah yeah sure." She quickly responded hoping he accepted it.

Judging by the huge smile on his face she could tell he liked the answer as he reached out across the table and took her hands in his.

"Oh I'm so happy you said that. I just think we can really have a fresh start and try again."

Her mouth dropped slightly. He'd asked her to try again?! Just as she went to tell him that it wasn't what she meant a beep went off by his belt. He held a hand up silencing her as he looked down.

"Got a call. Gotta run." He said as he jumped up and came round to her.

She was almost frozen to the spot as he leant down and kissed her cheek, her mouth still hung open in shock.

"Later Blue." He said with a wink as he quickly rushed off and out.

Her eyes followed him as she saw the two cobras practically yanking back on Eyeball as he attempted to lunge at Danny.

The moment Danny disappeared her head shot back to Eyeball as he stared at her in disbelief. Just as she stood up to go to him he just shook his head and stormed out of the diner.

The other cobras gave her a cold look as they followed him out quickly. She quickly gestured to the dogs as they leapt from their seats and followed her out of the diner.

Looking around she couldn't see Eyeball or the other cobras anywhere. Fuck.
