SHINOBU POV
We never talked about what happened on Uzui's birthday. We acted like nothing transpired. Giyuu doesn't remember anything and no one dared to tell him either.
Life goes on.
The alarm went off and I looked at the class I was teaching.
"Time's up, please leave your papers on my table on your way out." I started working as a teacher at the school last April, I taught Physics at the highschool department and Experimental Physiology at the college department. I also acted as the high school's doctor.
I touched my belly and looked outside, remembering that fateful day.
It started like any ordinary day, although Giyuu was extra protective and paranoid. And caring and sweet. I was just a few weeks pregnant but Giyuu already had the list of what I shouldn't do.
"Hey, I'm the doctor here!" I complained that morning just to tease him. We haven't told anyone about it yet and we planned to announce it that day.
Since I was the school's doctor, my office was at the clinic. I was checking the papers when there's a sudden pain in my stomach. It was so painful, I gasped and caught my breath. It took a minute before it subsided. I immediately mentally checked the symptoms and ran all the possible reasons for the sudden pain.
I was scared to inform Giyuu and I don't want him to panic so I decided to just go to the nearest hospital on my own. I stood up and grabbed the spare key of our car.
"Aaaah" I held on to the medicine cabinet as pain crossed my lower stomach again. Tears formed in my eyes. Just then, someone knocked on the door. I didn't answer and just gasped for air, praying that it was not Giyuu on the other side.
The door opened slightly and Mitsuri poked her head, "Hey bestie, want to - oh my god! Are you okay?" She went inside and supported me.
"You're sweating bullets and pale!" Panic clearly in her voice.
"Let me call Giyuu."
"N-no, p-please." I grabbed her hands tightly. And then I felt hot liquid flowing from below. I was wearing a skirt so Mitsuri saw it immediately.
"Oh my god, Shinobu!" She shouted.
I started to cry, cry in pain, both physical and emotional. My visions were turning blurry, I felt cold and there were ringing sounds in my ear.Mitsuri was screaming on top of her lungs as we both slumped to the blood stained floor. She laid my head on the nearest chair and sprinted to the door.
"Get Tomioka-sensei quickly and call an ambulance!" She closed the door and went beside me. "Hang in there."
I was starting to lose my breath. Everything hurts.
A few minutes had passed and the door swung wide open.
"Shinobu!" I heard Giyuu and felt his arms lifting me up. There was a lot of noise but I couldn't understand them. And then I lost consciousness.
I woke up, and even with just the feel of the bed and smell of the room, I knew where I was. I continued to close my eyes as I didn't want to face reality.
I have a numbing pain down there and I started crying. I know what they must have done, after all, as a doctor, I've seen it countless times.
I felt a hand gently wiping my tears.
"It's okay, love, I'm here."
I snapped out of my reverie when Tamayo-sama entered the room. I didn't even hear her knock.
"Shinobu, I know it's not my place and I know we must keep the confidentiality of our patients but-" She sighed.
"I know you had 3 miscarriages already, does your husband know about your condition?" I was so tired of keeping this to myself, my lips trembled, a cry trying to escape. I just shook my head and said nothing.
