Chapter 18: Games

Date: March 12, 2021

GIYUU POV

I woke up even before the alarm went off but I just stayed in bed, my left arms splayed as Shinobu used it as her pillow. I quickly turned the alarm off and gently put her head down the bed to avoid her from waking up.

I turned off the AC and slid the door open off the balcony. The crisp morning air hitting my face. I stretched for a bit then kissed Shinobu on her forehead before going to the bathroom to take a bath.

The breakfast starts at 7 am so we have to make sure that all our students are already awake and ready by that time. We have a lot of activities today so I changed to my usual blue tracksuit.

Shinobu was already up when I left the bathroom. She was clutching the comforter to her chest, covering her bare body.

"Good morning, did I wake you up?"
"No." She reached for me and kissed me on the lips.
"I need to go and make sure the students are awake. I'll see you at the dining hall in 30 minutes?" I asked while grabbing her chin, going for another kiss. She just nodded.

After eating our breakfast, we went to one of the function halls. Some students seemed to have gotten over Shinobu being my wife while others still looked at her. I kept her close to me so she won't feel conscious.

"Since there were many of you, we will group you into 10 groups, each group will have a teacher or attendant, you can ask for guidance or help from them." Kyojuro started.
"Group 1 will be under me, 2 to Tengen Uzui, 3 to Giyuu Tomioka, 4 to Mitsuri Iguro, 5 to Kanae Shinazugawa, 6 to Sanemi Shinazugawa, 7 to Obanai Iguro, 8 to Shinobu Tomioka, 9 to Makio Uzui and 10 to Suma Uzui." The students were excited while some were confused. Sanemi and I silenced them with a glare.

Gyomei will be the one to oversee the game, to make sure everyone is following the rules. And Hinatsuru and Tsutako will take care of the kids. I kinda felt bad for them but they were the most patient among us.

"Each activity will have corresponding points, the group with the highest points wins. Also, there will be two activities where your teachers and others can join to help you, so choose wisely."

SHINOBU POV

"Hi!" I said as cheerfully as I could to the students under me. "Let's make today as fun as it could be, but let's try to win also." I added.

I glanced at Giyuu's group which consisted of three girls and three boys, they were Tanjiro, Zenitsu and Inosuke. Damn! I know they're pretty good with sports. Mitsuri got Kanao and Aoi. While Sanemi got his brother. Aargh! I really wanted to get one of them.

I looked back  at my group, luckily I got the twins Muichiro and Yuichiro, although they don't look that much, I know they're fast and smart. Compared to the other groups, we were somewhat composed of small to average in height people. Tengen laughed so much when he saw my group. We'll show him!

The first activity was a treasure hunt, for students to learn the importance of following directions. None of the group asked the assistance of their chaperone, so we just watched them. Having a good laugh. My group came second, and I thought, in your face Tengen! As long as the activity will require both physical and intellect, we actually have a shot at this.

To learn the importance of communication, we played the pass the message, Tengen joined the game, and surprisingly they won this round. Even though all of the students in his group got the wrong message. When Tengen wrote the phrase, we were surprised that he got it right. He flamboyantly flexed in the front  while we all gaped in shock.

The next game was quiz bee and I was really hoping the students would choose me to play with them but they did not. Mitsuri's group came first in this round followed by Kanae's and Sanemi's.

By the end of this round, this is the current standing:

Group 2 with 149 pts
Group 4 with 148 pts
Group 3 with 146 pts
Group 6 witb 144 pts
Group 1 with 142 pts
Group 5 with 141 pts
Group 7 with 139 pts
Group 10 134 pts
Group 8 131 pts
Group 9 with 130 pts

Beach volleyball came next, for students to learn the importance of teamwork. I picked out a piece of paper from the bowl and #3 was written.

I looked at Giyuu and I saw him smiling, oh, is it because we're small?

I gathered my group and planned our strategy.
