Chapter 33: Heisei | Reiwa Secrets

Date: April 26, 1995

GIYUU POV

I was waiting for my friends when a girl about my age came to view, she was holding a small girl who was crying.

"Don't cry, we'll make new friends here! And I won't let anyone bully you!" The older girl with long black hair and pale violet eyes comforted what seemed like her younger sister. The small girl finally stopped crying and looked around. Her gaze landed on me and her eyes widened.

Just then, Sanemi came outside the playground.

"You!" He shouted at the two girls.
"Why are you there? That's mine!" The two girls looked so confused that they didn't move. Sanemi charged in their direction.
"Get out of there!" I told them while running towards them, too. I don't know, I just had an impulse to protect them.
"Argh" My body clashed with Sanemi.
"They're new! They didn't know it's your spot." I told him while he kicked me. The girls tried to get them away from me but Sanemi was too strong for them.

And then suddenly, an adult had him by the back of his shirt.

"And what do you think you're doing, Sir?" He had a scary calm smile on his face.
"Papa!" The little girl shouted.
"He wanted to hurt us and he protected us." She pointed her little finger to Sanemi then at me. And then she smirked.
"Papa, we're fine. It's just a misunderstanding." The older sister said, giving her little sister the look.
"Now, now, that's not nice." He let go of Sanemi and turned to face him.
"Why did you do that? Have they done something to you?" He asked nicely but I somehow felt scared. And he wasn't even talking to me.

The older sister helped me get up while the small one hugged me from behind. She peeked under my arm.
"No, we haven't!" The little girl answered again. She was quite spunky compared to her big sister who just watched.
"What is your name?" Their father asked.
"San-nemi Shi-nazugawa."
"Well, Shinazugawa, I think it's best if you say sorry to these three."
"Fine. Sorry!" He shouted then ran away to the equally hot headed black-haired kid with a pet snake. The father just sighed and I heard him mutter Sanemi's name.

"How about you? What's your name?" He faced me and smiled warmly. I instantly felt my body relaxed.
"Giyuu Tomioka, Sir."
"Well, Tomioka, are you hurt?" He examined my body.
"No, Sir." I answered right away and he chuckled.
"Such a fine young boy." He patted my head.
"Why don't you introduce yourselves to him?" He looked at his daughters.
"I'm Kanae Kocho." She smiled sweetly at me.
"And I'm Shinobu Kocho. I'm a future Doctor!" I peeked under my arm and looked at the little girl.

Her purple eyes were so pretty. So pretty, I couldn't look away. The prettiest eyes I've ever seen, even prettier than my sister's. I thought. She had a sweet and warm smile on her face. Kawaii! I felt my heart expanding just by staring at her. I put a hand on my chest, afraid that my heart would get out.

"You're very pretty." I blurted out before I could even stop myself.
"You're also very pretty." I quickly said to her sister.

Their father chuckled again.

"I hope you and my daughters will get along, especially this one." He eyed the little girl who was still hugging me.
"But I think you will." He left us at the playground and finally my friends arrived.

"Giyuu!" Makomo ran towards me and tried to give me a hug but she suddenly fell on her butt on the ground, crying. Sabito was instantly beside her.
"Shinobu!" Kanae shouted. Prying her sister away from me. I looked down and saw the little girl, one hand hugging me while the other one was extended forward.
