Chapter 25: Happy Thoughts #1 - Wedding

GIYUU POV

We were all seated in a room facing a table with 2 kendo swords, 1 baseball bat, 1 wooden paddle, 1 knife and 1 pan on top. Our hands were handcuffed and none of us were talking. Mitsuri was hysterical outside.

"I told you, I was the one who called you for help! My friend is the victim here, and they just helped her!"
"I'm sorry Mam, but that's not what it looked like based on the body cam. And the guy they were beating claimed they ganged up on him."
"We have CCTV footage of the school! You just wait! I'm telling you, you got the wrong people here!" She wailed.
"Ma'am, please calm down."

Mitsuri came with us here to aid us because she was the one who called the police while Kanae was the one to go to the hospital with Shinobu.

"My best friend is dying at the hospital! Her husband and friends are here! How can I calm down? Don't touch me!"

We all flinched when she said the word dying. Is my wife dying right now? My little butterfly. I touched my pocket and felt her purple emperor hairpin. She had always worn this ever since I can remember.

Now it's broken, I hope she's not.

I was lost at words. I need to be with her. I stood up. A disheveled Mitsuri entered the room with an officer.
"Please, just let me go to the hospital." I begged the police.
"I'm sorry Sir, and although I believe what you are all saying, we have rules to follow."

It's ironic how the same principle I used to tell students was the one punishing me right now. Misturi was sobbing hard and Obanai went beside her, putting a strand of hair behind her ear.

"Kanroji, calm down and have a seat first while I talk with the officer." We recognized the voice and we all looked at each other.

We couldn't hear what they were talking about as Oyakata-sama was as serene as ever. The door opened again and he entered.

"I wouldn't say that what you all did was right, but thank you for saving Shinobu and having each other's back." We still couldn't look at him. Embarassed by how we acted.
"It's nice to finally see all of you getting along." I looked at him, confused by his words. The others were also confused. What did he mean? We've always gotten along.
"I've given the copy of the CCTV footage to the police, they are just going to review it and let's just follow their protocols. Don't worry, I will handle this matter myself." We were shocked but at the same time grateful.
"Tomioka, you may need to apologize to the officer you assaulted."
I sighed and just nodded.

SHINOBU POV

I woke up with a start. Disoriented, I took note of my surroundings.

Dark blue sky

Beeping sound

Silicone hose

Dextrose

Antiseptic bitter smell

Hospital. I was in a hospital. Again.

I looked down in my body and bruises covered my arms. I tried to raise an arm but my body hurt so much. Kanae was talking to someone outside but when she saw my slight movement, she immediately ran beside me.

"Oh, Shinobu! You're awake! The nurse already called the doctor. Let's just wait for him, okay." She lightly kissed me on  the head.

Tamayo-sama's husband, Dr. Yushiro, came in and did the usual check up when a patient regained consciousness.

"Vitals are good." I heard him whisper. He checked other things on the monitor and then on his tablet and me. He looked at me, with his usual stern face.
"As for your baby-"
"I don't wanna know." I cut him off. "I want to wait for my husband, please tell us when he's here."
