SHINOBU POV
It was Tengen's birthday and he invited us all to this bar with private rooms. Drinking wasn't really Giyuu's thing and he can't hold alcohol that well but tonight, he drank so much, he's wasted.
It was the first time I saw him like that but I already have a suspicion as to why he acted like this. Our marriage is not perfect but we never shared to anyone our problems. We kept them to ourselves, we dealt with them privately.
"Giyuu. Stop drinking already." I whispered.
The others were eyeing us but I kept my smile."Shinobuuuuu looove!" He slurred while putting an arm on my shoulders. "You know I love you right." He added and kissed me on my nose. I felt like crying so I excused myself before I broke down just like him in front of everyone.
After a few minutes I went back to the room, Giyuu had his head leaning on the wall, mouth slightly opened. Under different circumstances, I'm sure this would be funny and a source of a lifetime teasing.
Tengen's wives entered the room with a massive cake. We all sang him a sober version of happy birthday.
"Thank you, thank you! That was flambooooyant!" Tengen said and hiccuped. We drank more alcohol then ate and played with the cake. I know it's wrong but we were so drunk. Giyuu woke up from his sleep and saw the cake.
"Cool cake, is it my birthday?" We all laughed.
"Yes, it's your fucking birthday!" Tengen shouted and grabbed a handful of the cake that had a candle. "Here, make a wish."
Giyuu swiped his finger in the frosting, "Hmm, tasty but not as delicious as my wife." The guys guffawed while we girls giggled.
"Man, did you put viagra on his drinks? Why is he like that?" Sanemi asked while the others laughed.
"Shut up and wish you horny ass!" Obanai shouted.
"Okay okay." We waited for 5 seconds but he did not say anything and just bursted laughing. "Where's the fire of the candle?"
"Right!" Kyojuro took out a lighter and lit a fire. After that we waited for him again.Giyuu gazed at the flame and with a serious face, said, "I want to have kids on my own." He blew the candle as his tears flowed.
It was like we suddenly lost all our intoxication and we all grasped what he just said. Tengen put the cake back on the plate and wiped his hand with a tissue.
I didn't know I was crying until Mitsuri wiped my tears with her fingers. She was crying too, along with Kanae.
I went to Giyuu and hugged him tightly.
"I'm sorry, Giyuu. It's my fault." I wiped his tears. "I'm sorry."
The others just stared at us looking sorrowful.
It's no secret that I had a miscarriage last April, but what they didn't know is that we still keep on trying to concieve. And what my husband didn't know is that I keep losing our baby.
