Chapter 8: There Goes My Surprise

SHINOBU POV

I rode the bus with Mitsuri and her family. Obanai was sitting with his kids while I sat beside Mitsuri. I could feel the students were staring at me but didn't mind. We arrived at the resort and saw Giyuu with the other students.

My heart started beating so fast. Pull yourself together Shinobu! You just have to wait for a few more hours, I told myself.

I stayed back on the bus. A few moments later, Mitsuri came back with two cards. "Here is the card to your room and this one is to my room, stay there first. Oh, here's your lunch by the way."

She quickly hopped down the vehicle and ran back to the resort. I went to Mitsuri's room, it was big. Well, it's understandable since she's staying with her whole family. I ate the lunch she gave me and fell asleep.

The door opened and I woke up, Misturi came in. "Hey, I hope I didn't wake you up."
"Mitsuri, I'm sorry, I fell asleep, what time is it?"
"It's almost 3:30 pm"
I quickly thanked her, grabbed my luggage and bags and headed over to my room. I debated with myself whether to knock or just open the door with my vingcard. I decided to use the card. I slowly opened the door, afraid to disturb Giyuu.

But to my surprise and disappointment, he was not there. I pouted, fixed my things, and took a very quick shower. I opened the curtain of our window and looked outside the beach. It's 12 minutes before 4:00 pm, I should really be going. But just before I turned around, I saw a familiar figure walking down the beach. I didn't think anymore, I just ran outside to where the man was.

I started to cry a little bit. It's been too long, 4 years to be exact! I was supposed to go back to Japan after a three-year residency, but the pandemic happened. Some people were staring at me while others didn't mind me. I slowed down a bit, I could already hear him reprimanding students to get back at the resort with his usual stern voice. I chuckled, he's still the same Giyuu I know.

The wind blew and I got something in my eye. I rubbed it a few times. When I finally opened my eyes, I saw a female student clutching on to Giyuu, crying.

They looked so intimate, I felt like I'm trespassing a special moment. I gasped but quickly covered my mouth. I ran away from them, remembering what my co-doctor told me a few years back. "You can't let him wait for you forever, a guy like him can easily get a new girl." At that time, I really didn't believe her.

Why would I? When all Giyuu does is wait for me.
