» » EDITH BEGGED LUCIUS Malfoy ta kill her. To end the seemingly endless torture he was putting her through, to release her from the hell she had been encapsulated by for more than a week. But Lucius only snarled, his teeth on full display as he laughed in her face, raising his wand again to send a curse her way. He'd Crucio her, make her whole body bend and twist in an unnatural manner, her blood cells catching fire as she winced, screaming for the pain to stop. He'd use other curses on her, curses she'd never even heard of, but that could surely end her life if it wasn't for the fact that he wanted to keep her alive. He was taunting her. Playing with her. It was all some kind of twisted game to him, and it seemed as if it would never come to an end.
That was until she heard the cracking sound of someone Apparating inside. Someone who was definitely not supposed to be here, and by the surprised look on Lucius' face; he hadn't expected it either.
"You—", he grabbed Edith by the throat as she continued to sob quietly. "Stay quiet—or I won't hesitate to kill your friends and everyone you hold dear."
Edith knew just by the look in his eyes, that he was telling the truth. Lucius Malfoy was an utter lunatic, and he wouldn't hesitate to hurt everyone she loved if given the chance. So instead of sending back any snide remarks or spitting in his face (as she had managed to do one too many times, which unfortunately caused the blonde to hurt her even more), she did nothing but whimper as he pushed her to the floor once more, before leaving the room to go investigate the sound.
At first, all that could be heard was Lucius himself whispering in the dead of night, wondering who was there, but soo enough, Edith realised they were not, in fact, entirely alone.
"Who's there?", he questioned. "Show yourself!"
Silence filled the air, something that Edith had longed to bask in ever since she was taken. It wasn't the kind of silence that made the whimpers, sobs and laboured breathing of her and Alexander (who had by now been taken to another part of the manor and Edith had no way of knowing if he was even alive or not) stick out. No, it was the kind of silence that made her feel as if she was finally free of the torturous hold he had on her, the kind of silence that made it impossible not to wish sleep would come sooner. The kind of silence that eventually lulled Edith to sleep, right then and there, on the cold hard wooden floor of Malfoy Manor.
Not half an hour later, Edith awoke to the soothing sound of someone whispering sweet nothings into her ear. The voice was smooth like silk, hypnotising almost, and it made her feel as if she had reached heaven. Perhaps she had done so, finally.
"Edith?! Edith, I'm here. Oh god—Someone help! Hey—look at me, you'll be fine. I'm here now, love. I'm here".
She could've sworn the recognised that voice.
"Edith, love? Look at me—you're going to be fine. Everything's alright now. I'm here. Fred's here. I'm gonna need you to hold on tight-alright? I need to apparate us home".
"Fred?", she opened her eyes slowly, adjusting to the tiny bit of light that made its way through the windows around her.
