REVELATIONS

🥀

» » FRED STOOD almost frozen solid in front of Cerise, who had a unreadable expression on her face. He had asked her to come to the shop just after closing, expressing his urgent need to speak with her. Now, as he stood in front of her, he couldn't help but feel his voice stuck in his throat, nervous about her possible reaction to the news he just shared, scared she'd freak out and blame Edith, when in fact, it felt a long time coming. He had been meaning to speak with her for awhile now, he just couldn't find the words to express how he didn't harbour the same feelings for her as he presumed she did for him. Besides, he wasn't even sure he and Edith were in a good enough place to get back together just yet.

"I get it." Cerise finally spoke, the tension hanging in the air moderately tangible.

Fred looked up from staring at his shoes which had seemed to be particularly interesting the last ten minutes. "I'm sorry—what?".

Cerise heaved a sigh, no sign of either disappointment nor resentment noticeable on her face. "I said I get it. I've known for while, and I'm okay with it. You love her, I can tell—and who am I to stand in the way of that? Besides, and not to be rude or anything—-but I don't find your type that interesting."

"My type?", the ginger asked confusingly, a smile taking form on lips. She was okay with it.

"I'm gay, Fred", she explained. "I like girls."

It all finally clicked for Fred. The reason why Cerise never seemed to be jealous in the company of Edith and him. The way she'd smile a little extra at female costumers whenever she visited him at work, and the way he had caught her staring a little too long at his sister Ginny when they went to visit his family.

"Oh", he murmured, the smile growing to which Cerise returned by placing a sturdy hand on his shoulder.

"Can't believe you never noticed", she beamed, jokingly slapping his cheek.

"I guess it all makes sense now...", he said.

"She said that? She was okay with?." Edith asked, slightly confused but mostly happy upon hearing the news of Fred breaking things off with Cerise. She had been fearing her reaction for some time, ever since he shared his plans to break up with her, and she was afraid the young woman would be heartbroken. But by the sound of Fred's' voice and the giant smile on his face, it seemed she hadn't been too crushed at all.

Fred smiled, leaning in to press his lips on hers in a blissful kiss. This was a long time coming. Them. The two of them just basking in happiness together. Finally, they both thought.

"I love you, Fred Gideon Weasley", Edith smiled, her dark eyes bearing into his as if she was getting lost in them.

"I love you, Edith Harlow Gannon", Fred replied, his smile stretching from ear to ear. "So much", he whispered, before finally pressing his lips on hers.

It was warm and gentle, yet passionate. It felt amazing. Unlike any kiss they'd shared before, because now they knew. They truly knew; they loved each other, and nothing could stand in their way anymore.
