Jisung stands in front of his bathroom mirror. He just got out of the shower, a towel wrapped around his waist with the mirror all fogged up. But enough to see his reflection clearly.
"What are you thinking about?" Jisung was taken from his thoughts when he heard Y/n's voice. He forgot he was in here to wash his hands after changing the baby's diaper.
He looks at her leaning on the bathroom door through the mirror. He looks at himself once again before turning around to face her.
"High school." He answers.
Y/n looks at him with a soft look. "You mean you were thinking about the thing."
Jisung sighs, walking out of the bathroom. "Come on Y/n. I can't be the only one thinking about it. I'm sure you-."
"I used to. Now I don't. The thing that happened, led up to our baby that we now have. I think about now, I think about my baby." She says.
"Our. She's our baby." Jisung defended.
"Are you sure?"
Jisung scoffs at what Y/n said. "You're seriously doing this? I'm here aren't I? I'm taking care of our baby, I'm doing this with you!"
"Shh." Y/n quickly covers his mouth with her hand. "I just got her to go to sleep."
"Sorry." He mumbles.
Y/n lets go of his mouth. "If you're in this with me, why do you keep bringing up the thing? Why can't we just be happy about what we got from it?"
Jisung looks at her with tears starting to form in his eyes. "Because we also lost a lot from it too." The tears fell. "My friendship with Hyunjin tore apart because of the thing, Ryujin left because she couldn't even look at me, and my life-."
"Your life?" Y/n cut in. "What about your life?"
Jisung sighs, realizing what he was going to say. "Changed." He adds. Y/n scoffs with tears also falling. "It wasn't just your life Jisung. My life changed as well. I also lost them both. In fact, it's our life now."
Loud screams and crying started to fill the house.
"Great. She's awake now. I'm gonna put her back to sleep." Y/n sniffles, walking past Jisung.
"What do you want me to do Y/n? Now that it's our life, what do you want me to do?" He says, frustrated. "Do you want me to get a job because I will. If it stops me from thinking about the thing then I will do it."
"Wait Jisung, where are you going?" Y/n follows him. She follows him as he grabs his coat, his keys, and his bag.
"Out." He says before slamming the door behind him.
Y/n lets out a frustrated groan before going back to taking care of her baby.
Jisung sighs. "I'm sorry Y/n." He speaks to himself through the mirror. "I'm sorry for everything I put you through. I promise it will be better this time."
He sniffles, not realizing he was crying from the memory he had. He washes his face before going to his bedroom to change.
After changing and drying his hair with the towel, Jisung sits comfortably on his bed. He tries not to think of the life where he only argued with Y/n, but rather remember the times he was in high school where he did have a crush on her.
The times before Hyunjin convinced him to go out with Ryujin rather than her.
It was the first day of freshmen year and everyone was finding their seats to sit at for the rest of the year.
Jisung walks in, nervous seeing all these new faces but also familiar ones. He looks at the teacher's board for his assign seat then walked ahead.
Making his way to his seat he notices a girl sitting in his seat. "Uh hi." He awkwardly said. The girl looks up from the book she was reading and smiled at the boy. "Hi." She beamed.
He felt his heart skip a beat when she smiled at him. After a moment he noticed he staring, Jisung clears his throat and began to speak again. "You're in my seat." He says.
The girl looked confused and looked over at the teacher's board just to check. Her eyes widened, starting to feel embarrassed. "Oh. So sorry. I must have read the board wrong. I'm guessing you're Han Jisung?" She stands up from the seat.
He nods before sitting down. The girl stood by the desk a little longer just to double check where her seat was.
"I'm Kang Y/N. It was nice to meet you." She smiles again, walking over to her seat. Jisung relaxes in his seat, replaying her smile again in his head.
"Y/n." He mutters, smiling to himself.
-
After sitting in the right seat, Y/n opens her book back up and continued her reading but before she read a word she thought back to her interaction with the boy.
"Han Jisung." She mutters.
"HANNIE!" Y/n looks up to someone shouting someone's name and he turned out to be Jisung's friend. She was looking back at them, trying not to be obvious and saw Jisung smiling as he was hugging his friend.
"Cute." She chuckles.
"What's cute?" Y/n gets startled when someone suddenly slammed their hands on her desk. She turns away from the boys to see her friend. "You of course Ryujin." She says.
"Well you're gonna be seeing a lot of me because it looks like we're desk-mates." Ryujin takes her seat next to Y/n.
"Oh lucky me." Y/n sarcastically said. Ryujin wraps her arm around Y/n's shoulders, "Oh you know you love me."
Y/n chuckles, "You're right, I do."
Ryujin started unpacking her things on her desk and while she was doing that Y/n tried to discreetly look back at Jisung.
She turned her head and to her surprise he was already looking at her. She had a small smile, giving him a little wave and he does the same. They both smiled at each other before turning away out of shyness.
And just like that, is where both of their feelings started. They never did anything about it because they were still focusing on adjusting to high school and eventually gave up on trying.
Not until Junior year came.
The year where they realized their feelings for the other person grew. The year Jisung wanted to ask her out. The year Y/n wanted to confess her feelings for him.
We all know what happened the day Jisung planned to ask out Y/n, but we didn't know was that, that was the same day Y/n planned to confess to Jisung.
She wanted to wait until after class but it was too late and after witnessing the boy she likes asking out her best friend, her feelings for the boy began to get buried and never resurface again.
Senior year came and that's when everything really started to go downhill.
Jisung groans, putting his head in the palm of his hands. "How did we end up like this? Is this why the shooting star brought me back? To realize how much of an idiot I am?"
He let out an unamused chuckle, "What do you want me to do?!" He yelled, looking up at his ceiling. "Why did you bring me back?!"
"What do I need to do?" Softer this time, almost asking himself that instead.
