Pure darkness.
But it was just for a moment.
Jisung began to feel his body move again and hear noises but he couldn't see anything but darkness around him.
"Jisung."
His eyes opens. He takes the moment in and notices the bright room he was in. Then hears beeps of a machine next to him.
He was laying on a bed at a hospital.
Jisung slowly gets up to sit up. The sound of him moving wakes up the person sleeping on the couch in the room.
A sleepy Y/n yawns. She was confused at first but one look forward and her eyes immediately opens. "Jisung." She mutters.
Jisung turns his head. Y/n gets up and slowly makes her way to him. "Oh my god." Tears well up in her eyes. She wraps her arms around him, holding him in a hug. But she realizes what she was doing and lets go of him.
"I'm sorry." She mutters, pulling her arms back to her side.
Jisung reaches to hold Y/n's hands. "Why are you sorry? And when did you cut your hair?" He questions.
He was about to question some more until he saw the wedding band on his left hand.
"Look Jisung, before we talk about what happened before the accident, let me grab the doctor to tell them you're awake."
Jisung still holds onto Y/n's hand. "Wait. What accident?"
Y/n was hesitant to pull away her hand but she did. "Let me just get the doctor so they can explain." She held a small smile before leaving the room.
Jisung was left with his own thoughts.
"What is happening?" He's starting to freak out.
The last thing he remembers was being hit by a car then he wakes up to a change in Y/n's appearance and a wedding band on his finger.
As he was questioning himself further, he heard something vibrating on the table next to him. He notices that it was Y/n's phone.
He picked it up and sees there is a text.
We're on our way! -R
But that wasn't what caught his eyes. It was the date that read above.
2030
"2030?!" He exclaims. He puts down the phone and touches his face, his body, his hands. "I'm back?"
"Yes, and we're very happy to see it Mr. Han." The doctor walks in with Y/n behind them.
"Mr. Han do you remember what happened?" The doctor asks.
Jisung doesn't look back to his last memory but his last memory before he woke up to himself from 2022.
"I was driving then I went to bed then woke up to what felt like a dream." He says but sounded uncertain towards the last part.
"Well according to what the police explained. You were driving Mr. Han but you didn't go home after. When you were on your way home, you were in car accident which you then suffered from a severe concussion resulted in you being in a coma for about 4 weeks."
"4 weeks? I've been in a coma for a month?" Jisung was definitely in shock. Everything that happened before waking up felt real to him and everything that happened in a span of 5 months, happened in a month's coma.
"Yes. And we're gonna have to run a few tests to see if you're okay to be discharged, but looking at how well you respond you will most likely be out of here in a few days." The doctor says.
Y/n nodded. "Thank you doctor."
"No problem." They respond. "Any questions?" They ask. Jisung shakes his head, still processing everything. "Well if you need me just call for one of the nurses." They smile before leaving the room.
After letting all the information sit in, he's suddenly back to how he was before the accident and remembers everything. Even his coma dream. Everything that happened to everything that was said.
Y/n sits on the edge of the bed, she couldn't face him. "I'm sorry Jisung." He could hear her voice quiver. He can't see her face but he knows that she was crying.
"I shouldn't have said what I said. I don't know what came over me. We were doing so good then suddenly we started fighting and it just stayed like that for the past 8 years." She cries.
"Hey hey." Jisung calms her down. He touches her shoulder to turn her, looking at each other now. "Everything we said in those moments, we didn't mean them. We know that."
"Our fight ended up with you in a accident. I feel so guilty for that night, I cried every night hoping that you were going to be okay. I didn't want you to leave me." She confesses.
"And I never will. Y/n, I love you and I always will." Jisung says. Y/n pauses at that, more tears started to stream down her face.
"What- what's wrong?" Jisung was concerned as he was wiping her tears. "I didn't think I would hear those words again. *sniffles* I love you too, always have."
Jisung stifles a smile. "What happened in high school got us together and I don't regret it." Jisung pulls Y/n so she was laying with him in his bed.
"I've went through something when I was in my coma." Jisung says.
"What do you mean?" Y/n asks.
"I was back in high school and started reliving senior year..." Y/n's face tensed at that. "But instead of seeing the bad memories, it was replaced with good ones and a lot was altered." He continues. "But as I was going through it, I realized what went wrong."
"Then what went wrong?" Y/n mutters.
Jisung looks at Y/n, as she lays in his arm. "I didn't tell you my feelings and how much I cared for you before senior year happened."
"You mean?..."
"Since the day we met, I knew you were the one I was going to love forever." He smiles. Y/n smiles back before leaning in to kiss him.
They share a loving, tender kiss.
They smile at each other once more.
Y/n then suddenly remembers something. Her mouth gapes. "Oh I forgot to mention one more thing. Something happened when you were in your coma."
Jisung furrowed his eyebrows. "What is it?"
Before Y/n could answer, knocks were heard at the door.
Knock. Knock.
