"What did you get for number 8?" Ryujin asks. The two girls were doing homework in Y/n's room. This was normal, Ryujin hanging out at Y/n's house, because Y/n's parents weren't around a lot.
Y/n was sitting at her desk while Ryujin was laying on her bed.
Y/n looks down at her sheet of paper. "The square root of 64." She answers. "Wait, I thought we were doing science homework." Ryujin says.
Y/n pursed her lips, "Why don't we take a break from homework?" Ryujin nods, closing her books. She starts to sit up and then remembered something.
"So." She started, not sure why she was nervous to ask this. Y/n looked at her friend and furrowed her eyebrows when she started to act a little weird. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm perfect." She awkwardly chuckled. "How about you? Are you- are you okay?"
Y/n sat comfortably on her chair, swaying side to side. "Ryujin. Is there something you want to ask me?"
"I um...have you talked to Hyunjin about anything recently? Anything related to junior year and feelings?" Ryujin wasn't sure if he told Y/n yet but she tried hinting it to her.
Y/n was taken aback by the sudden question. "Well I pretty much told you everything that happened between me and Hyunjin on the trip. But..."
Ryujin started to lean forward. "Yes, but. What but?" She nodded with anticipation.
Y/n sighs. "He's actually coming over next week so we can talk."
"Really?" Ryujin asks.
Y/n started to play with her fingers. "Yeah. But I really don't want to talk about it."
Ryujin nods, "I get it, we don't have to." She paused, looking away before looking at Y/n again. "What about Jisung? What's going on between you two? You guys seem to be getting closer ever since we got back."
"Ryujin-." Y/n groans.
"I know I know." Ryujin started. "I just want to know how you're feeling right now. You said you wouldn't be able to go through with it but it looks like he feels the same way." She says.
Y/n stood up from her chair and started walking back and forth in her room. "Ryujin please. I don't want to get into this right now."
Ryujin propped herself on the bed by sitting on her knees. She started to feel a little irritated that her friend isn't sharing her feelings with her. "Why Y/n? Why? Why can't you just tell me how you feel about this instead of pushing the topic away?"
"It's complicated okay?" Y/n said with a loud tone.
Ryujin followed the tone and spoke a little louder. "What? What could be so complicated? Are you scared that you might get rejected-?"
Y/n cuts her off. "I'm scared that I might not be able to recover from heartbreak." She confessed.
Ryujin's eyes softened at the sight of her friend. "What do you mean?"
Y/n sits on her bed, next to Ryujin. "Four months." She sighs. "Four months until we graduate. Even if he does like me back and we get together, that's only four months with each other until I have to leave for college."
She paused for a moment. "I liked him for four years, we just started to become closer as friends, and now you're telling me there's a chance that he likes me back? How am I going to recover from that?"
Ryujin softly smiles, holding Y/n's hands. "That's in four months. This is now. Imagine how happy you will be right now. You're you, I'm sure you're gonna figure it out when the time comes, but right now it's okay to focus on the now."
"Really?" Y/n mutters.
Ryujin nods. "Yes. And when the time does come, just know that I will be there for you."
Y/n pulls Ryujin in a hug. "Thanks. That really helped."
"Of course. And remember, you can tell me anything. Whatever it is, I will understand." Ryujin says. They let go of the hug. "I know it's been your plan to leave this place and I'm really sad about that, but you deserve this."
Y/n smiles at that. "You know, I was just fine with not telling him." Ryujin gives her a look. "Sure you were."
"So when are you going to tell him?" Ryujin started to get excited. "Oh please tell me it's going to be at school tomorrow- ouh please let me be there-."
"Woah calm down." Y/n says. "I still need to talk to Hyunjin next week. Before I start anything with Jisung, I have to make sure everything is fine between me and Hyunjin."
"Right. You're right." Ryujin nods. "So you're telling him next week." She smirks.
"If it makes you happy, then yes, I'll tell him next week." Y/n playfully said.
Ryujin squealed. "Oh my god, this is so exciting. My best friend is getting a boyfriend." She got up from the bed to do a little dance.
Y/n chuckles, "Aren't you overreacting just a bit? I mean, we don't know for sure if he likes me back."
"Please. After what happened on the trip-..." Ryujin stopped herself from going on. She thought it would be weird if she told Y/n what she witnessed Jisung did that night in the cabin.
"What? What happened?" Y/n asks.
"Huh?" Ryujin lets out. "Oh wait, I'm remembering something totally different. Sorry about that." She nervously chuckled.
Y/n furrowed her eyebrows but chose to ignore her best friend's weird actions. "Okay?"
Ryujin gulped. "Hey. Um...have you ever, you know, had dreams about- him?"
"Well, there were some." Y/n shrugs. "Were they-...did you guys-..." Ryujin had a hard time. It was awkward for her, asking Y/n if she had...certain...dreams.
"Oh. You're talking about if I had any sexual..dreams about him." Y/n carefully says. Ryujin nods.
"Oh." Y/n started to blush. "Well...maybe just once."
"Really?" Ryujin was invested in this. She wanted to hear more and Y/n could see that in her face expression.
Y/n cleared her throat. "We didn't finish our homework. We should probably get back to it." She got off the bed and walked back to her desk to open her textbooks.
It started to get silent.
"So was it like-?"
"Ryujin." Y/n quickly said, turning around.
Ryujin just chuckles. "Fine, I won't say another word about it. They are going to be so cute together." She mutters the last sentence to herself.
