I had to make Elliot promise me we weren't going to go to a super fancy restaurant. He just bought me thousands of dollars in clothes. We pulled up outside a very aesthetically pleasing restaurant. It was rustic with greenery surrounding all the window and the entryway. I looked over at Elliot giving him a look.
"This looks fancy." He smiled and chuckled lightly.
"It's really not. I have known the owners for a very long time."
I bit my lip and nodded. This is our first real date. Before we would just meet up for sex and order food if we were hungry but now...now he's taking me out to an actual restaurant and being an actual gentleman opening and holding door for me and putting me before himself. Is this what it's like to be in a real relationship?
Elliot guided me inside the restaurant. It wasn't super busy but about five tables were full. I young man greeted us and sat us at a booth. The booth was placed up against the huge window that was on the front of the building.
We sat across from each other making light conversation about what was on the menu.
"Elliot!" An older women apporched us. That women...looked so familiar. She reached out for Elliot and gave him hug as he stood up. I racked my brain for where I saw this women.
"Deanna, this is Dex." Elliot held his hand to me and I took it standing up. As soon as I stood up I knew where I knew her from.
"The bus! You are the women from the bus!" Elliot seemed taken back by my sudden yelling. Deanna smiled and nodded.
"Hello sweetie. Is everything ok with the baby?"
"Yes yes! Everything is perfectly fine. We even have the chance to know the gender."
Deanna took my hands in hers smiling great big. Just how Elliot smiles.
"You two...know each other?"
"Elli, she's the wonderful women who helped me when I fell. I never did get to properly thank you...thank you so much for helping me."
"No problem sweetheart. That douche was at fault!"
"Deanna! I don't think I've heard you cuss." I laughed at Elliot.
"Oh hush child. Now you two enjoy your date!" We both hugged Deanna and she went on her ways
"I had no idea that is who helped you."
I picked up the menu again looking down at all the the options.
"Neither did I!"
I continued to look at the menu but I could tell Elliot still had something to ask.
"Yes? Out with it."
Elliot sighed and looked at me.
"What did Deanna mean when she said that thing about the Douche?"
Damn. I wasn't going to tell him. I mean when we left Lakes was nowhere to be seen. I don't know his last name and I have no phone number or anything. I won't be able to find him again but Elliot...he could.
"Well, Lakes, the guy who was at the hospital with us, he was the one who pushed me down." I whispered the last part out.
I could see Elliot getting mad. Really mad.
"He! Are you kidding?!" I shook my head no and placed my hand on his. He pulled away.
"Why didn't you tell me?!" I sighed.
"For this exact reason. I didn't want you to get mad. He felt really bad after the fact. He didn't know I was pregnant either."
"I don't care! He pushed you down regardless of you were pregnant or not!"
I moved from my side of the booth to his. He was almost seething. His hands were clenched into fists and his knuckles were white. I carefully picked up his hand and opened it placing it on the top of the bump. His breathing slowed and his other hand relaxed.
"I'm...I'm sorry, it's just thinking that he was right there and I had no idea he hurt you..."
"But look! I'm ok and our baby is." He smiled and nodded his head.
"Ok so let order no-"
"Dex?!"
No. No no no no no. Please no.
"Dex?! Is that you."
I hid my face down inside Elliot's jacket. I could tell he was confused.
"Tyler and Cate." I whispered
"They don't know about the baby." I never told Elliot about Tyler and Cate but hopefully he would get the hint.
"Dex I know that's you." I heard Tyler's voice for the first time in months.
"Could you leave please." Thank you Elliot.
"No! I want to see Dex. He won't answer my calls or texts. I went to apartment but he wasn't there! I just want to see my best friend."
But I don't want to see you. I want you to go away for Elliot and I can finish our date. I started to breath heavily. I want him to leave! I could smell his pheromones. They make me feel sick.
"Oh, that's who you are." Elliot must have noticed the pheromones as well.
"What the hell is that supposed to mean?! Who are you?!"
My belly tightened.
OW! It hurts. It really hurts. My stomach hurts. Tears began to form in my eyes. I clung onto Elliot's coat. Him and Tyler were still bickering back and forth. I heard Cate trying to pull Tyler away but he wouldn't budge.
"Elli..." it came out as a whisper.
"Elliot!" Both him and Tyler stopped talking.
"Are you ok?!" He saw the tears streaming down my face.
"It hurts...my belly hurts..."
"Shit!" Elliot started to shove our belongings in his pockets.
"What's wrong? Why are you freaking out over a stomach ache?!" Tyler just shut up!
"Get out of my way!" Elliot slid us out of the booth. Tyler and Cate stepped back. He placed my coat on my shoulders. He only let go of me for a second but I crumbled to the ground.
"DEX!" Both Tyler and Elliot lunged for me. Tyler caught me but I pushed him away. I reached for Elliot and he held me.
"Call a fucking ambulance!"
"What the hell is going on?!" Tyler still didn't know I was pregnant...
The coat slipped from my shoulders and showed me clutching onto my small bump.
"It really hurts Elli...will our baby be ok?"
Tears started to form in Elliot's eyes.
"It will be ok. You and the baby." He gave me a smile but not one of his big grins. I want a big Elliot smile not a weak one.
"He's...pregnant..." Tyler and Cate's eyes were wide and their mouths hung open.
"The ambulance will be here shortly!" I heard Deanna yell from behind the front counter. Just as my vision went blurry then black.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
