If Kisses Should Win

Part thirteen

I woke up to a blinding light shining in my eyes. Where am I? I don't remember anything. My head hurts...
The baby! I tried to focus and started to sit up. I heard people talking to me trying to tell me something but their voices were muffled and I could make out what they were saying.
I just want to know if my baby is alright. Please let it be alright. I wasn't ready then but I am now. I have Elliot and he is trying really hard to be with me and help. Please....please let my baby be alright. A tear slipped from a eye. My baby...
A hand wiped away the tears that were falling. I took a deep breath in smelling a mix of Elliot's deep cologne, his pheromones, and chemicals. A hospital. I was in the hospital. I moved my hand trying to find Elliot. I still hadn't opened my eyes.
He clasped onto my hand and held it to his cheek.
"Shhh...it's alright."
I tried to open my eyes. I want to look at him. I carefully started to open my eyes letting them adjust to the bright lights in the room. My blurry vision was still there but it went away the more I blinked. Soon I could see Elliot. His cheeks were stained with tears and his eyes were red.
"Elli..." I whispered out.
Elliot's head shot up. He was still holding onto my hand in his.
"Dex...you're awake!"
Elliot was standing now. He still had a hold on my hand. I looked at him with worry in my eyes. He seemed to know what I was wanting to know.
"The baby is ok."
I huge wave of relief washed over me. My baby is ok...our baby is ok.
I placed my free hand on my bump. Elliot followed after placing his hand on top of mine.
CLICK!
The door shut and Elliot turned around. Tyler and Cate. I knew that's who it was when Elliots hand tightened down on mine.
"He just woke up. Give him some space."
"I just want to talk." I don't really want to talk with you.
"Didn't you hear me? He just woke up. He's still upset. The doctor said not to raise any emotions right now. He's already so tired...just leave him be for right now."
Elliot turned back to me sitting in the chair that he had pulled over to the side of my bed. He sighed and dropped his head.
Cate was trying to get Tyler to move but he wouldn't budge.
"Come on Ty! I've never seen you act like this before. Let's leave him alone for a while."
"Leave him alone?! He is pregnant Cate! He is pregnant and he didn't tell us! Are you not mad?! We have ALWAYS been there for him. Yet something as minuscule as a kiss causes him to not speak to us for MONTHS!"
No. He did not just say that. I tapped on Elliot's arm asking him to sit the bed up. Elliot did as I said and once I was sitting in a confortable position I looked over at Tyler.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry i didn't tell you about the baby, but I was upset. I was so upset and disgusted with myself that we did that Tyler that I couldn't even stand to look at you or Cate. I love you both, I do but I couldn't and still can't be near Tyler without feeling sick. I didn't call you, Cate because I knew that I would tell you, and Tyler made me promise that I wouldn't say anything."
Elliot was still holding my hand but on the opposite side of the bed. Cate looked obviously confused and she was biting the inside of her cheek.
"Tell me what...." Cate finally spoke up after this entire ordeal throughout the restaurant and here. I sighed. I have to tell her.
"Tyler and I-"
"Don't." Tyler cut me off. I clenched my jaw. It's not like we slept together. We only made out.
"We kissed. Not like a regular kiss like full on made out."
Tyler dropped his head. Why was this such a big deal?! I mean I understand that he is concerned but really it's just a kiss and the kiss was an accident. Cate will understand.
I looked over to Cate so see that she looked...defeated?
"I knew it."
Cate seemed sad and even a little mad. Her arms hung loose to her side.
"I knew it...I knew that there was no way that Tyler, who is this beautiful alpha from a good background, would fall in love with a beta and even want to marry her. I have nothing to give."
At this point I was up from the bed. Elliot was trying to hold me down but I gave him a look and he let me go. I walked slowly over to Cate.
"I knew he would leave me for an omega. Omegas are naturally beautiful and they can feel pheromones. I'm tired of people assuming that you and Tyler are together because you guys smell like each other. I'm useless. What is the point of a beta?" Cate sobbed.
I grabbed her hands in mine.
"Cate...I love you. The only good thing about Tyler is you. He's selfish, arrogant, and self centered but ever since he met you those things have started to fade more and more. You two are made for each other. I'm so sorry that this happened but I have so interest in him. I mean I'm having a child with someone else!"
I placed my hand on her cheeks brining her face up looking at her.
"Your niece or nephew."
Cate smiled. She had a few tears still coming down her face. I wiped them away. I pulled her into a tight hug.
"I love you Cate. I've wanted to tell ever since it happened but asshat over there made me promise not to. I knew you would understand that it was an accident."
"Of course I would. I know that it's just...why did it happen in the first place?"
I released Cate from our hug and looked over at Tyler who had been very quite.
"Go on...tell her."
"I...wouldn't stop releasing pheromones...and triggered a heat episode."
Now Cate looked mad. She walked over to him and delivered a crisp slap across his cheek.
"Asshole! I'm leaving! Don't come home until you have sincerely apologized to Dex! Also very nice to meet you." She waved at Elliot and left the room in fast walk.
I raised my eyebrow at Tyler.
"She's right."
Tyler chuckled and walked over to me. I noticed Elliot had gotten a lot closer and was watching Tyler very closely.
"I'm so sorry."
He went in for a hug. Elliot had his hands our ready to throw a punch at any given moment.
"So this is my niece or nephew?"
Tyler placed a hand on my bump. I laughed and looked up at Tyler.
"Yes, I'm around 4 months along." I could basically see Tyler doing the math in his head. His eyes widened.
"Oh my god! I did that to you when you were pregnant?!"
I nodded and his head fell.
"But it's ok! Because we made up now and Elliot and I are getting there."
Tyler looked over at Elliot.
"You a good guy?"
"I think so."
I laughed and gave them both a smack on the side of the head. Finally. I have Cate and Tyler back and Elliot and I are getting there. For now, I'm happy

1282 WORDS!!! Another longer chapter. We are now going to be going onto chapter 14!! Almost to 15!!! It's very exciting. I had no idea that I was going to continue to write this much but I really love it! ANYWAYS BYE FOR NOW!!!!!
