The members woke up excited.

No. They woke up EXCITED.

During the afternoon, they would finally meet Engene. For real.

Jungwon felt amazingly overpowered by it. As soon as his phone rang, he jumped on his feet, ready for his first mission of the day. However, he didn't even have to wake the members up, they had all stood up by themselves, shivering from excitement.

"My face hurts" said Sunoo, as he poured some cereal in his bowl.
"Probably cause you fell from heaven" replied Niki in a whisper while opening the fridge to take some milk.
"Smooth" whispered Jake back.

Niki looked back at him, surprised that he had heard. Jake shook his shoulders.

"Why does it hurt?" asked Sunghoon, who didn't want to let Sunoo hang for too long.
"It's because of all the smiling I've done since I woke up" explained Sunoo proudly.

"I think we will all experience that tonight" added Heeseung.
"I can't imagine how it will be" continued Jay. "Meeting our fans for the first time."
"Right?" replied Jungwon. "Even though it was extraordinary to meet some Engene through video calls, I think it will be even more overwhelming to meet them for real."

"It sucks that we haven't been able to do it before though" said Niki.
"The important thing is that we are going to today" added Heeseung, nodding at the youngest.

Jay was feeling a bit nervous. His palms were unusually warm, as they always got whenever he was stressed.

"It's going to be okay"

Jungwon.

"I know" said Jay. "It's just..."

Jungwon didn't need to reply, he perfectly understood what Jay was going through.

"You're going to do fine, I'm sure" said the leader, looking into Jay's eyes, a gentle smile on his lips.

Jay side smiled. He felt a bit lighter.
Jungwon's presence was always helpful. Like a sip of oxygen when he felt like he was drowning. Like the first ray of sunshine after a storm.

Jungwon always seemed to know how to comfort Jay, sometimes knowing what he needed better than he did himself.

"Are you guys ready?" asked the staff.

The boys got up, ready to go.
The staff guided them into a big room. Other staff and security were already there. In the middle of the room, there were seven tables, with a chair on opposite sides and a plexiglass on them.

"I had forgotten about the glass" whispered Sunghoon.
"It's a good compromise" replied Heeseung. "No meeting Engene without it."

The staff announced where each would sit and Jay was happy to discover he would sit next to Jungwon.

They all sat down, overwhelmed.

Soon enough, the staff let seven fans in, and the meeting started.

A few minutes after, Jungwon was relieved. Talking with his fans was quite natural and overall sweet.
He felt his heart melt when his first fan told him she had supported him since I-Land.
She was explaining more about that, however something else caught his attention.

Jay's laugh

A quick glance on his right let him know that Jay was laughing and smiling at the Engene in front of him.
