Gus is sitting in the hallways of Hexside, his head buried in his arms, Luz walks up to him

"Hey, Gus, You okay?" Luz asks

"I-I messed up bad, Luz. Willow just needed help with this pixie problem, right? So I thought, oh, that I'll lure them away with an illusion. But then..." Gus starts to explain then sighs

"That angered the pixies, and they attacked Willow.... I heard" Luz says

"I moved up two grades" Gus says, and burns his head deeper into his arms, "What's the point of being good at this if I can't do anything GOOD with it?"

"It was an honest mistake, Besides! Willow's tough as nails! I'm sure you'll both be feeling better tomorrow" Luz says, smiling

Gus smiles back, the next day he's laying on his back and groans

Gus pov:
My Crystal Ball caws and beeps and shows the prerecordedessage of me and King

"I'm not reading this" King says

"Come on, King. Please?" I ask

"Ugh, fine" King's asks and clears his throat, "Is that a six-footed pig or a floating appendage? Why, no!"

I hop infront of the crystal ball, wearing a cape, "It's Gus the Illusion Master. Please leave a message!"

The video turns to Willow, her arm in a cast

"Hey, Gus, Thanks for sending me all those "Get well soon" illusions but, uh..." Willow starts

Three tiny illusions of me jump onto her shoulders and head

"Willow! How are you feeling? Do you have a fever?"
"Willow, you want me to sing for you? Mi-mi-mi-mi-mi-mi-mi-mi..."
"Willow, is this helping?"
They ask and yell at Willow

"Can you please take them back?" She asks, I groan

The crystal ball shuts off and I roll onto my stomach and make a spell circle, summoning the illusion to stand in front of me

"Where's Willow?"
"Why are we here?"
"Did we do bad?"
They ask

I blow the illusions away, them yelling,, and my ear twitches as someone knocks on a door

I open the front door to see Luz

Luz raises her arms, "Gustopher!" She does finger guns, "Gusteban!" The leans on the doorframe, "Augustabeth!..Any of those working for you?"

"You need my library card to visit Luna and Amity, don't you?" I ask

Luz lets out a nervous laugh, "I haven't been doing a good job of hiding that, huh?"

I shake my head, "no, no you haven't"

"Neither have Amity and Luna though, I don't know how you haven't noticed.. then again Luna and Amity still haven't noticed their crushes on eachother.. ."

Luz whines, "Dang it...."

"Well- uh- anyways, I was also hoping to do a little bit of... research! Come" Luz says

"And by researching you also mean flir- ah!" I yelp as she drags me away

We walk through the streets of Bonesborough

"So, Eda's mom told me I'm not the first human to have lived in Bonesborough!" Luz explains, "If that's true, there might be some info on how they got here in the library!"

"Yeah, okay, Looking through old newspapers is about all I'm good for anyway" I state
