Chapter 26

March 6th, 2022

3RD PERSON

"Hey, do you think you could make it like two hours off while you are on the work so we could all meet up and talk about the plan?"
"Uh, I'd have to check with my boss."
"Okay, as soon as possible. And then just text me to let me know or something, so I know."
"Okay, I will."
"Wait, do you have my number?"
"Yeah, yeah."
"Okay then. I'll see you soon."

Jaden sat in his car and drove to the café where he would meet up with Madeline and Linda.

"Oh hey." Jaden said when he noticed Madeline and Linda already sat at the table.

"We already ordered you your usual."
"Okay, thanks. I was just in Sasha's store, she will see with her boss about leaving for two hours or so." Jaden said as he sat on something like sofa next to Linda and took off his jacket.

"Good."
"So, I talked to my crew, when you make a anonymous report, or any type of report, we have to go to the scene where it's reported. We will need to witness the domestic violence for that report to do what it's needed. If we don't, then report has no point." Madeline said as she took a sip of her drink.

"I don't want her to purposely get abused just for us to do something. What the hell?" Jaden raised his eyebrows. How stupid that would be.

"But what did you think? We can't get him in cell if we don't see it actually happening. Her making the report and confirming everything in court gets him in prison. This won't." Linda explained, placing her food in her mouth.

"What if- what if we agree on the time that I make a anonymous report. You will know at exact time that you are going to get at her house, and then that way she will know how to get him to try and do something. But before he actually does something, you get inside and she or her kids don't actually get hurt."
"I don't know. We'll need to talk to Sasha about it too."
"Yeah."
"Oh, wait, maybe she messaged me." Jaden said, taking his phone out and actually seeing new message from Sasha.

Sasha:
Could we do it tomorrow around 11? He said I can get off work earlier, but I will still need to get to the shop to pick up kids when they come from school.

Jaden read the message out loud, making Linda and Madeline agree on what Sasha said.

Jaden:
Great, do you want me to pick you up at 11 then? Because I'm not working tomorrow so it's on my way to the café anyway.

Sasha:
It's okay, I don't want to be a burden.

Jaden:
You're not. I'm picking you up at 11 then, we will go to one café with Madeline and Linda.

Jaden set his phone down, continuing his conversation with Linda and Madeline while they ate food.

Madeline said bye to Jaden and Linda as they were all in front of café, ready to go back to their work.

"I'll see you later." Jaden kissed Linda's head, ready to go over to his car. But he was stopped by Linda pulling him back by his wrist.

"Hm?"
"Wait a second." Linda waited for Madeline to drive off in her car before continuing to talk, "You think we could meet tomorrow? Alone? Because you have a day off and I have just some papers to fill up, but it won't take me too long."
"Yeah, sure."
"Great. When?"
"Hm, I'm dropping kids off around 8:40."
"Okay, but I'm on work from 9, and then later we have to meet up with Sasha and Madi."
"Ughh, then only option is afternoon because when we are done with our little meeting I have to pick up kids. Maybe I even take them to a restaurant to grab lunch because I didn't in long time, and I want to because they've been doing really great at school and everything."
"Okay then, you call me when you're ready to come over at my place. I won't take your time with kids away." Linda smiled at Jaden, making him nod.

"Okay. Sorry I ruined plans."
"You didn't, don't worry. Just call me any time you're free to meet up."
"I will. Okay, I'll see you soon." Jaden kissed Linda's lips quickly before two of them went to their cars and drove back to their work.

Jaden's and Linda's relationship was slowly getting more serious, but Linda knew Jaden needed time, because she is the first woman he's been with since his wife died.

She didn't want to get too involved and then realize they maybe don't actually get along that great.

So they had no labels on their relationship. It was obvious they don't have anyone besides each other, but they weren't necessarily in a 'serious relationship' or dating.

Which Jaden liked. Linda not as much, but she understood why is it that way. But she hoped it comes to the stage where they are actually dating and being 'serious'. She hoped he would sometime soon introduce her to his kids and take her to his house. Because as of now, if they're going to someone's house it's Linda's place. Only because of Jaden's kids.

Which, again, Linda didn't mind that much, but she hoped that won't last forever.
