8 Mysterious man

Nathan's POV

We came down and saw everyone waiting by the door. "No one is going to go in?" Zane asked as he saw them a bit further from the door.

"Who wants to go inside! We don't even know what's going to happen there." One of the guys told his arms where shacking but he grabbed his pants to try and stop it. I walked up to it and just opened without much strength. This wasn't the time to fear, I stepped in feeling presence behind me. I knew it was Zane as others where too scared but nevertheless they followed after my lead.

"Nathan, you're brave." I heard a girl say it but didn't recognize her by the voice. Inside, in a circle where standing desks taller then one meter and the top was 35 degrees. Tablets were put on those tables each having a different name.

'Get to the tablet with your name.'

I walked to the apposite side of the room as other side didn't have it. Zane was standing on his right and a girl on the left. I looked at the tablet and there it was the same serial number.

H0000 written under my name. I gaze at Zane at first he didn't understand what I was thinking but after I showed the number he analyzed his.

Peering at the girls screen beside me I read Maya Valentine D0072.

"What does this number mean under my name?" Kevin pointed noticing that as we did.

'It's just a list number. That way it's easier to find information for me.' The guy told.

"So different letters in front of the numbers mean separate lists." I mostly said it, not questioning it.

'Yes. Forget about that. Right now you have a test to finish. Let me explain what's going to happen. You, boys and girls, will have a very heated discussion of who dunnit, solving this case and at the end you press the name of the person you think did the crime. If you are correct I'll eliminate only the killer if you made the wrong choice...
I'm going to kill first three people that found the body. That is Nathan, Zane and Hailey. How bad it would be? At the end you all have to vote or else. Don't go breaking rules.'

"What do you mean eliminate?" Dark beige blond haired girl asked with terrified sea green eyes.

"It means he's going to kill them." I calmly asnwered. Even if mine and Zane lives where at risk we stayed calm while others panicked as if their names where called. Hailey of course was crying as she was scared for her life.

'Now that it's clear. Get started.'

And silence fell over the room. Zane and I glimpsed at each other knowing we have to take the lead in this. I gestured my hand to let him start it.

"What do you think killed Gavin?" Zane asked everyone present in the room. At first they where hesitant talking. "Don't be shy." He encourage the group.

"From hanging." One of the girls say.

"I think it was a suicide." Light ash haired male that was about my height told. Interesting how dumb.

"What about the hit on the head?" I asked surprising the male. He didn't whisper a word but another person interrupted.

"Maybe he just hit himself." The ruby head girl shrugged answering.

"Yeah. He was hanging in the air holding that lamp and banging himself on the head just so he could confused people and had enough strength to throw the lamp on the nightstand perfectly?" I retorted.

"What if he hit himself first and then hang?" Kevin's lover question.

"And with his magic power put the ladder next to the door? Or maybe he shouted for someone and said 'hey can you put this ladder next to the door for me. I want everyone to freak out and be idiots for an hour.' At the end someone in this room knows what really happened that evening." I responded quite harshly.
