Nathan's POV

Nevaeh was my assistant. I couldn't stop thinking about this, if it's really the truth why she didn't recognize me? Maybe she worked in my department? No. That doesn't make sense, it was written clearly she was an assistant. One thing that doesn't make sense is that she worked for the kidnapper but my assistant? How does that work?

I was rummaging my head till this shocking idea popped in my head. It would connect everything. We need to avoid the girl at all cost. She can't know.

After my thoughts settled down I was able to focus I was reading a book in the dining room. I was sitting there alone but once I stood up to leave, I heard a click. Scanning the room I saw one of the cabinets drawers open. As it peeked my curiousity I stepped closer and saw two big knifes, one bottle of poison and cuffs. I stared blankly at it.

"Is this guy for real?" I asked myself loudly, shaking my head at items I just saw and closing it back. I walked out of the dining room. It got boring these days, interestingly there's no limit this time. Or he haven't announced it yet. I walked up the stairs and turned left, my footsteps closer to my destined room. There should be a male inside sitting and checking other two lists, I wasn't part of. What's his name again? I can't recall but I hope the second I step inside, I'll remember. His name, this place. Why we here? I glanced at the book I was holding, why was I reading a book?

I opened the door forcing myself as my instincts told me to just leave but my head kept repeating I need to be here. As I already knew there he was. A blonde male sitting on the chair, his attention was brought to the door as I entered and closed it behind me. His forest green eyes looked for answers as to were I was but I didn't give him any.

"Do I need to ask where you were?" He questioned me aloud.

"Reading." I simply said walking up to the empty chair besides the well-built men. He laughed at my answer and spin to the computer.

"I couldn't recognize any names on the other lists besides the ones that are here in the house." He explained but it confused me more, what lists?

I looked at the screen and saw names written but none of them, I knew. I should know about all of this, he talked as I'm part of some investigation.

"Zane." I said to make sure it was his name and I wasn't mistaking.

"Yes?" He voiced curious to what I had to say. I stared at him for a little letting my brain recall as much as possible.

"Nevaeh." I whispered, there was something about this person I had to tell him but what? "Be careful." I wasn't sure what I really had to say to him but it's better to warn him even if she was innocent, that would make the man keep his eyes on her.

"What do you mean? Do you remember something?" He bargain me with questions, I wanted to answer but couldn't.

"No, I don't think so." I whispered thinking to myself once again. I looked at the book I had in my hand, opening it. This was a diary and not a book. I started reading the content happy to understand where I am and what is happening.

"Did you forget something again?" I raised my head to look at the male properly. He was staring at me with serious expression, patiently waiting for me to say something in return.

"I did." I whispered out glancing at the computer. I felt guilty, guilty I couldn't remember things. That I can't help him to solve this, all I can do right now is watch the male beside me struggle searching for clues and settling with the knowledge he was alone. His friend if I can call myself that, wasn't there to share the burden.

"Do you have a headache?" He questioned keeping his gaze on the screen but still had no focus on the thing.

"No. It's fine. Have you found knew notes that could answer some of the questions?" I asked him which surprised him.
