Nathan's POV
I opened my eyes to see sunlight shinning in my room. I raised my left hand to glance at my wrist watch but it wasn't there. I turned my head to the nightstand seeing it lying there.
I reached my hand and grabbed the metal mechanism to check the time. 3:59 pm. It blasted to my face.
Pushed down the blanket on top of me to the side, slowly sitting up afraid that my head will spin at the actions but it was clear as the day.
"I hate this work." I said to myself. "Where's Daniel? I thought he's be here to wake me up. I'm clearly late." Standing up I walked to my closet but inside I couldn't find my lab coat.
I dumbly stood there staring. I was still in the same house but my clothes weren't there. I took anything at my reach and went to the bathroom.
I'll ask Daniel if he knows what's happening. Maybe it's my day off? I never remember them. It should be the case.
I got to the first floor about to open the dinning room as I heard people shouting inside there. I stepped in and watched how Lydia and Stella were almost at each other throats. It seems nothing new is happening with the argument but their not supposed to be inside this house. It was my private property to rest. Besides Zane, who joined me forcibly here, only I stayed in this vicinity.
"Break it off you two." I angrily interrupted, these two always ready to tear each other apart.
"Nathan!" Stella screamed happily but I rolled my eyes. What idiotic programing, how come Heather didn't throw her out yet? He wasn't this patient like me.
"How are you feeling?" Zane who was sitting down on the chair and drinking coffee like any other day asked.
I strode next to the boy and sat opposite him. "Like a newborn." I smiled to him. He looked surprised for a second but didn't voice it out.
"I'm happy to hear it." The male smiled back.
"So today's the day off?" I questioned to make sure. This made Zane look at me confused.
"Day off?" He asked back not sure of what I meant.
"It isn't?" I voiced out my concern. "If it's not the day of, why are we in the house? I'm sure Daniel would be barging in to drag me to work." I said to him.
"Nathan?" Zane called my name. I nodded my head. "Nathan King." He told.
I slightly tilted my head to the side. "What are you talking about?" I looked at him concerned as my friend spoke someone elses name where I thought it would be mine.
"Your name." The blonde male calmly said.
"Zane." I hopelessly whispered. "You know it's not my name. Too bad that the boy died though." I regretted remembering that day, seeing him take his last breath. It was funny as both of us had the same first name. It wasn't confusing as he preferred people calling him Nat.
"The boy?" I nodded back at him.
"You weren't here yet. I'm sorry, but we shouldn't talk about it." I lowered my eyes afraid of showing my eyes to my best friend.
"What's your name?" My soul twin invested.
"Don't act like you forgot. It's too early for that." I playfully smiled taking his cup with half drank coffee and taking a sip. "Yes, I still don't like this." Shrugging I giggled to myself. "Tea and milk is still my thing."
"Nathan Leon Cyrus Ashford." He smiled his eyes shinning with happiness about the new information? He knew it for several month, why is he acting like he forgot?
