Nathan's POV
I was sitting on the windowsill, watching how raindrops fell from the sky changing earth to a darker colour. Wet forest looked more alive at these rare days. Might be because it's summer.
It was suspicious how our kidnapper haven't said anything, I thought by now he'll be encouraging us to kill by giving another stupid motive. Somehow he's quiet.
I pulled out a white piece of paper that I took off the tabletop. I was looking at it thinking should I read it or not. "Funny how information inside this paper got even the two best friends walking apart." I pushed the paper back into my pocket, this could still bring reasons for someone to kill.
No, Kevin's note will make someone kill for survival. One true statement was found. "Nathan?" I glanced to the side to see Anthony walking closer.
"Hey." I said to him, waiting to hear what he wanted to say.
"The note Kevin had, is it true?" He questioned me, looking at him for few seconds I asked him back.
"Do you really want to know?" I saw him closing his eyes, clenching his fists. Preparing for what I was going to reveal to him.
"I want to know." He comfirmed.
"It is." I voiced. Anthony nodded his head thinking a bit.
"So there's no reason for me to fight?" Even if it was a question, I had no intention of answering. Better for the male to find that this answer won't bring happiness or hope. Maybe he wasn't looking for a way out, just a reason to end all of this and join the person he craved for.
"It's for you to decide." I turned to look out the window, no matter what he chose I can't stop him. Maybe I don't wish to do so. I gazed at the leaving man stepping into the same room his lover's body still existed but his soul already descended.
There was no purpose to cry for him as I was sure he already mentally died that day Kevin left his side. Anthony, himself, reminded me of those androids. He does what we tell him, an image of a person.
"'Dying is my choice of living.' I'm not sure others will like your hoodie." I heard Zane teasing voice.
"My fashion needs to be savage as my personality." I retort back. I gazed at Zane surprised seeing him dressed in colors. He always wears black clothes but look at him now. Beige sleeveless sweater vest on top of a white long sleeved shirt, red loose fit jeans and cyan colored sneekers. "Bringing color when there's least hope to survive or did you got over some kind emotional crisis? If the last option is correct answer you can start preparing a suit for the funeral. You'll have to tell a long speech just by looking how many died."
"I would love to wish for the rest of us surviving." He walked up closer and leaned on the wall, staring outside. "Your not guessing who's going to die, are you?" He locked eyes with me, searching for an answer.
"I'm not." I simply said, breaking our contact to take the last look out the window and head to the data room. For clues about events that brought us to this time and place.
"You still haven't given up after what Kevin's note held?" Zane asked curious about what I thought these past few days.
"I want to solve the mystery about our appearance in this house." I whispered well aware that the boy following after me heard every single word.
"You really think we'll survive?" He question again.
"At least one of us for sure." I responded back skipping down the stairs.
"There's eight of us, it could take time." Zane sighed. "I shouldn't even say that, no one deserves to die. Is there really no other way to get out of this house?" He persisted and I knew how it felt. How being helpless dragged us little by little to the darkness.
