Simple youth,
how I long for it.
Not as reckless as some,
not as cautious as others.
I do not wish to grow,
I wish to stay young forever,
but not just for the glee,
but for that simple youth.
Time flies by too fast,
and everytime I grasp it,
it falls through the cracks.
And my heart stutters stop.
I want to see the world
through curious eyes,
through a loving mind,
one that isn't filled with worries.
I wish to stay in this wilderness,
filled with vines and poison.
I wish not to be safe,
in the known reality.
Simple youth,
how I long for you.
And here I am,
in the reaches of your hands.
I'll stay if I can,
but I might leave,
but oh simple youth,
promise me something.
Hold me tighter now and then,
whisper laughter and tears in my ears,
tell me secrets that I can carry on,
even when I'm not here anymore.
Simple youth,
I'll never forget you,
Simple youth,
you'll always be my first love.
