I never had a choice,
you were always there.
You listened with me,
and you wept with me.
You kept me company,
in the dark and in the light.
Yet when I'd needed you most,
you deserted me for silence.
You gave me want and you gave me lust.
You treasured hate and you wanted pain.
You let the tears flow down my face,
you let my heart and soul bleed.
But you also let my eyes see,
and let my hands explore the world.
You scolded and you tormented me,
you praised and you encouraged me.
You comforted me and you hurt me.
But you were always there,
either in the shadow or beside me,
you were always there.
And through our hardships,
through your mercy and through your pity,
through your kindness,
through your longing,
stay with me.
Please.
