Numb

A numb feeling settles over me,

The pain of yesterday long gone.

My silence a broken plea,

I don't want to succumb.

The ghost covers like a cloak,

My heart beating to the tick of the clock.

I drop and let the water ripples stroke,

The steady beat of death, what a mock.

The darkness inside of me, my friend,

Whom seen all my secrets and thoughts,

I've come to see you again,

I've come for what you sought.

Take my pain in your greasy fingers,

Take my voice, my eyes, my ears,

Your arms traces a song that lingers,

And down my cheek goes silent tears.

And tomorrow, when I can't see the stars,

You'll let those emotions flood me,

Until I'm bound and held behind bars,

So you can do it all over again for simple glee.
